Hey everyone,

Every now and then a thread surfaces in regards to users wanting to contribute financially to Dream Views, or simply just asking how they can provide assistance. In regards to our financial situation, we are doing well and should be able to run self-sustained for the foreseeable future. There are, however, some other ways you can help us out if you're interested:

1. Help us advertise! Get the word out about lucid dreaming, particularly about our little home here on the Internet. This could mean a variety of things, such as adding a link and description* about us to directory services on the Internet, or requesting similarly-natured sites to link to us, or perhaps mentioning us on your own sites; there are of course other creative ways to help too, such as the business card idea started by Seeker. (Please note: none of us like it when users join our forum just to post spam (i.e. link to another site) and then disappear, so that's not what I want to encourage at all. Make sure, should you choose to help us out, that you consider that please.) The more users we have here, the more ideas for new programs and activities that the staff and I can implement on the forum. Plus, of course, everyone brings their own unique ideas and experience with them, which would aid conversations that take place.

*A suggested description for us is as follows:

A complete walkthrough of lucid dreaming, dream control, sleep stages, dream recall, and dream signs. Also includes both practical and other reasons for experimenting with lucid dreaming, as well as tutorials, an active and friendly message forum, and a chat room.

2. Following along with #1, help out those new users as they arrive! Many of us probably remember what it first felt like when we joined...i.e. trying to establish a comfort level that would allow us to participate with the other users in conversations. So, please be respectful and tolerant of new users and their accompanying new ideas, and if one of them needs help, think about providing it!

3. Finally, when posting a message, think about post quality; lots of great ideas get passed around here, and I'd love to see that continue and even increase. Thus, please try to help keep us appealing as a forum (and information-repository) to outsiders. This also means if you have any unique insight or experience, please consider sharing!

Thanks everyone. Again, I'm posting this just for those who are interested in helping out. If you're particularly pleased with something you've managed to do to help us, feel free to contact a staff member to inform him or her.
