All I want to do is watch Underworld again. But my download time is 19 hours. *sigh* Maybe I should just con my dad into buying the damn movie. I'm going to buy it anyway... but I really had my heart set on watching it tonight. *sobs*

Hahah. I can't vote in that. I've got nothing against piracy - however, I refuse to not buy the CD's of artists that I really like. It's kind of like my silent support and while they could easily do without my $14 or whatever... I don't know, it makes me feel good to support an artist that I like.

Anyway, sucks on the movie :/ I can't say I don't pirate, say, anime, however... >P

Naw, I go buy the things that really deserve the money. Postal 2 STP is a good game, as is Vice City. But J-LO's latest album at overinflated price of £25 or something is just soo tempting to download from Kazaa/Shareaza/Bittorrent/whateveraza.

nah, they could easily do without the $.50 you're giving the artist and the $13.50 going to the record label is just simply crushing small bands trying to start out.

Well, lets see... I have no money, I am not going to get any money. By leeching stuff all I do is slow other people's downloads. You could say I help the companies. Even before warez I did not buy stuff. Maybe if I end up some day getting a real job I would buy the stuff I want.

Has anyone ever seen the southpark episode with music downloading and the RIAA? It's pretty good.

I NEVER buy anything where I have a choice of getting it for free. I have fast connection so I'm all good. The only thing Im worried about is the viruses. I hated Metallica before they started whining and now I hate them even more. :P

Yeah, rich whiny people piss me off. They're RICH! What the hell could they possibly be whining about? It really burns me up to see people like Metallica and Madonna start whining about people downloading their music. These are people who have so much money that they don't know what to do with it except spend millions on a coat that they wear once to the Grammy's and toss in their closet for eternity. Or they buy a fifth house. Never mind the people that are HOMELESS in this country! And then they bitch when their fans download their music.

I am dirt fucking poor. There is no way in the icy depths of hell that I can logically or willingly spend my hard-earned $20-$30 (or more) on a CD that has one good song on it. You can't return CDs so if you buy it and don't like it you now have a pricey coaster. I will only buy CDs if—after listening to a band via Kazaa, Napster, whatever—I feel that the artists deserve my money and support. There are very, very few artists that I won't test drive before purchasing a new CD of theirs. Among the musically sanctified: Nine Inch Nails, Evanescence, Tori Amos, Linkin Park, Tool. Why are they special and others not? Though their styles are widely varied, I trust them to respect me as a fan and provide me with enjoyable music. None of them have let me down yet. Metallica, on the other hand, let me down hard. Above and beyond being complete assholes to their fans (who shell out $90 a concert ticket!), Saint Anger sucked worse than anything that’s ever sucked before. I’m glad I downloaded it off Kazaa before I made the mistake of buying it. I do feel bad for the bands that are just starting out but if I like what I hear from them, they will get my money and support as well.

I could go on for hours about this subject. The bottom line is this: I support piracy and will continue to do so until the prices for shitty CDs go down considerably or until we simply get rid of greedy record labels altogether.

p.s. Su-Chan, I pirate anime as well. But that's a more out of necessity than anything else. I'm a purest and I'm generally not fond of English dubs. *shudders* :P

I forgot to say this earlier, but......The guns that selene had in Underworld were KICK ASS! I am almost always never impressed with guns and I couldn't care less about them, but those were awesome. I wish I had those just so I could should at inaminate objects at the firing range. :D
