So last night I came close to entering a wild, I believe. I remained aware through the physical trnasition to sleep and felt my body becoming numb. I saw images passing in front of me, becoming slightly clearer. I felt an intense vibration and my heart felt like it was beating really fast. I got very excited and thought maybe I would enter a lucid dream. suddenly, my eyes shot open. For a moment, I thought I might be in a lucid dream but I then realized I had woken up. I couldn't get lucid again.
Any advice on how to remain calm and make it through the transition into the dream?

Hey there Luciditynow 8)
I think it is important to not get overly excited and eager to get into the dream. What many people do is when they get close to WILDing, they are 'oh! yay! I did it!' *tries to jump into the dream* :-P
Instead of doing so, try let the dream come to you instead. Keep going the way you were up untill that point, passively follow the images around you, let them guide you, but not control you. Untill the dream just is entirely around you, and you shouldn't even have to 'jump in' :)
If you feel like you're having a hard time remaining calm and 'empty' try focusing on one aspect of your imagery, like a tree or something (whatever happens to be there). :) Often looking at the entire scene can be abit overwhelming.
