First off if this post should be moved feel free.

Ok so I got into lucid dreaming a couple of weeks ago and have been wondering about WILDs. My first question is that when I start having hypnogogic (sp?) imagery should my body be limp? Also, does it really matter if if I get 4-6 hours of sleep before? Hmm...I thought I had one more..Guess not well thanks to any comments.

Hi Flotsam. Welcome :!:
WILDS (http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2048)
There is a link to the Dream Views WILD tutorial.

My own thoughts.
You should be completley relaxed. When you begin to have HI -hynagogic imagery you have to stay alert enough mentally to enable these images to manifest into an actual dream, hence wake intiatied lucid dream. You enter directly into a deam.

it helps to let me to let my mind half drift off...and of course theres a very good chance of falling straight to sleep...but theres also increased success rate..in my experience. And Ive never been able to accomplish it without sleeping at least 4 hours first.

Ahhh thanks a bunch! So I have to stay alert enough to notice that the images are just hynagogic images pretty much?

well kinda...for me, I usually get entranced by the HI and lose awareness very briefly. But if Im so focused, my awareness bounces back right as I enter the dream. Its pretty much trial and error. But when done correctly, if not a WILD Ill at least pull off the regular WBTB, which is almost the same. It just doesnt include that bizzarre feeling of going from one world to the other. You should definately checkl out the tutorials. You can click my signature, mario picture thing ,for WBTB, but theres WILD and many other great tutorials on site.

Thats exactly how I discovered WILD, way before I knew what lucid dreaming was. WhenI should have been taking ACT's I was having several WILDS. And looking back, it was the perfect set-up. I always shoted myself on sleep. I got probably 4 or 5 hourr. Ran to school, and within an hour or and hour and a half, I was asleep at my desk having lucid dreams. So i encourage all you in highschool to save school time for sleep!
