Ok ok, stop me if you've hear this one:

Jesus Christ walks into a hotel and goes up to the inn keeper.

He gives him three nails and says, "Can you put me up for the night?"

:-P (You were expecting an argumentative thread? Instead, you got a bad joke. Love me!)

Edit: If anyone finds this joke offensive (which I copied from the movie, "The Crow"), say so and I'll replace it with something more intelligable. I'm really just trying to be cute and funny in spite of all the little disagreements :D

I hate the joke... (doesn't offend me, just cheesy), but I love The Crow...

I don't like discussing religion. because I don't know. neither do you. no one does. why argue. why fight. because no one knows.

I haven't read any of the religion posts on this board. But my opinion is this, and is the same on every board: this topic has been argued through countless centuries by people who are far more intelligent than anyone on this board, and there still has not been a concrete answer, or even a concensus of some sort. What makes people think that they can resolve the issue through the course of one thread in a public forum, or prove their points right?

we're all vain and want to see our ideas in writing. it also helps to organize our thoughts on the subject. -- it can be constuctive in some ways but people (including myself) get wrapped up in the moment and talk out of their ass.

but people should be allowed to express their opinions as long as they don't burn down anyone elses.

squall perhaps you should think about what you've written - maybe people don't want to resolve the issue, but just talk about it. at the end of the day, they haven't been around for centuries and they deserve to discuss what they like. (i'm not saying that in a horrid way at all!!!!)

on the other hand, people must be willing to respect other people's views even if it isn't want they believe in.

the only way to evolve is to become more aware.
it's as simple as that, but difficult to hold in practice.
and i'll keep stating this for just about anything - AWARENESS IS THE KEY

Good grief.[/b]

as regards to the above and Paperdolls quote of it being offensive
lets try this train of thought......

a devil equals some people's idea of evil
an angel is something that some people would believe is found in 'heaven' so this would be 'good'

so therefore...
evil = good
darkness = light

does it still seem as offensive?

It's sounds all good in Theory but remember those Demonic/Demons are nothing but fallen Angels and before they were considered bad they were good. But just like all of Gods Creation, they had the power of Free will. They decided to follow Satan. Not only that they were materializing themselves from Angels to Humans just to fornicate with Earthly women because they desired thier beauty so much. Most of them even gotten women pregnant and thus became abnormal Children which brings on the reason for the Great Flood in Noahs day.

Hearing a joke about religion always make me feel like I should take a shower afterward. It gives me the creeps. It's like if you are going to tell jokes about Blacks.. the person telling it better be black.. if you are going to say a joke about gays.. you better be a gay person telling it. It sort of gives you the right to joke about yourself. I don't want to hear a Puerto Rican telling a joke about Irish people.... you know what I mean?

Now, telling a joke about Jesus.. well...need I say more.

Blissful

I don't like discussing religion. [/b]

Ditto! I find it hard to discuss religion, talk about it, well, pretty much do anything related to it, because it's more than likely I'll end up inadvertenly insulting a religion in some way, shape, or form, and it would of been much better if I hadn't said anything in the first place.
