Don't know if this has been done before. If it has, sorry!

I wouldn't mind knowing a little more about everyone here so I thought it would be cool to have a thread that only gave 3 basic facts about everyone: real name, age and where you're located right now. Might be cool for newbies to scroll through a thread and get the first names of a whole bunch of DV members and couple other things. But to keep it simple, I say just those three pieces of info and nothing else.

I'll start

That, and whole load of other info about me, is all on my "about me" bit of my profile... but for those of you to lazy to click my name, or are scared by Death, my avatar (he's actually a nice guy when you get to know him!), here's the basics:

My name is Matthew Oliver Vinsen.

I'm 20.

I live in Auckland, New Zealand - the shitty HIGHLY OVERRATED little backwater island in the South Pacific.

I hate Garden Gnomes.

Garden gnomes are EVIL. Seriously... those smiles... they're not smiles, they're evil grimaces. And those beady little eyes, always watching you... I HATE them.

Thanks! :)

We get a lot of cats named Tabitha where I work - I guess it was meant to be that I work at a cat clinic.

I was named after the daughter on Bewitched. :wizard: (probably most of the younger members won't remember that show).

Hell yes! I was wondering if that was the reference with your avatar. And you're absolutely correct - Death really is a pretty nice guy, just a bit misunderstood. I mean, he's got a loving granddaughter and even an adorable pet rat. SQUEAK! Pretty normal, if you ask me. Certainly less scary than garden gnomes.

Yeah, I figured there'd be one. I was thinking this one could be more like a quick reference kind of thing though.

PS - you guys are hilarious.

PSS - Tabitha is SUCH a cool name. I love it.

PSSS - I am impartial towards gnomes but would not put one on my lawn.

TOTALLY cooler than lawn gnomes. I 'borrowed' one from a friend's neighbor (Hey, they had more than thirty. I don't think they'd notice) for a random present once. She still has it, and we've named it Pink Floyd.

Also, technically it would be PS, PPS, PPPS, not PS, PSS, PSSS (Post script, post-post script, etc. Rather than Post script-script). But that's just me being picky, it doesn't really matter :D

Well, they play Bewitched on Nick At Nite now! It ran on TV from 1964 - 1972. That's pretty long ago. And I bet if you ask one of these 15 year olds what Bewitched was, they'd only remember the remake movie with Will Ferrell and Nicole Kidman (which sucked). :P

I watched the original Bewitched, Burns. Well, reruns, but whatever. I liked I Dream of Jeanie, too...and yeah, the Will Farrel remake did SUCK.

Nah, Burns, you're not old. :) I used to watch Nick-at-Nite reruns every night during the summer when I was a kid (they had that programming schedule where they'd play 2-3 hours worth of episodes of a different show each night of the week). Bewtiched was my favorite show, followed by I Dream of Jeanie and Zorro. And I'm only 22 - although on this forum, I suppose that makes me one of the older ones.

Ahhh, Nick-at-Nite. It's just not as good as it was when I was a kid. You remember those "Summer Block Parties" then, Peregrinus? Those were awesome...on Monday night it would be 3 hours of I Love Lucy, then Tuesday it would be Bewitched...I used to love those shows. Nick-at-Nite just isn't as good anymore, I'm afraid.

Yes! Thank you - I was trying to remember what those programming blocks were called. And you're absolutely right - Nick-at-Nite has been sliding downhill for a while now. It's really too bad. Those Summer Block Parties were great, especially with the windows open and a nice warm breeze blowing in the sweet smells of summer that are never again as vivid as they are when you're a kid.

Lots, lots, lots of stuff. First, I'm Rhydon Kael Johansen, 17 and 7 months as of yesterday (April 25), and I live in Vail, right next to Tucson, AZ (pronounced TOO-SAHN, TUK-SUN, or any other way you can possibly imagine).
Second, I HATE GARDEN GNOMES!!! Not only are they scary, but I have to say they can be a bit tasteless sometimes, too.
Third, I do believe I have a very unique name as well (heck, they named a friggin' POKEMON after me... friggin' idiots...)...
Fourth, yes, I love Tabitha too. It's so original now, and so rare. And Gwendolyn is an awesome name too, just to say it.
Fifth, Death is an awesome guy. Don't worry, I was a little intimidated by him at first, but we hang out every other Tuesday night. *sniggers in the back room* Ok, I'm back.
Sixth I do remember Bewitched and I Love Lucy, but not very much, and I sure as heck do remember those block parties... wow, that was a long time ago, even for me... :o
And I also love this forum. It's my second family, in a way. I don't get a lot of support from some of the people I associate with... All that "dark arts" nonesense... Oh well, sometimes you just have to let things go.

Flamingoes are more of a southern thing, I never see them where I live. Maybe because it's not warm enough; you'd never see a live flamingo up here so why put up plastic ones? Gnomes on the other hand, I see those little guys everywhere, which is why they never look out of place IMO
