Hit the button printscreen, and then go into paint and hit the buttons ctrl and the letter v at the same time.
Then save the image.

I had to resize to be under 120k. The browser is usually maximized, and never had that iSearch toolbar until someone installed it without my knowing. Winamp is playing Limp Bizkit, Staind, Cold, Fuel and Incubus MP3's at 192k.

I only have two harddrives, with 5 partitions in total, but the last one is linux so it isn't visible in windows. Then I have one DVD, one burner and a phantom CD/DVD.

I'll post my Linux desktop whenever I decide to boot it.

I love my Mac, and it lets me set it so that the background changes every 5 minutes.

Right now I'm in a phase where all my backgrounds are me-made. Whatever... that sounded dumb when i said it out loud to myself. Self-made, that's what i meant.

...also, its odd, i have like 10 viruses on my computer, and i cant figure out which one did it, but one of them makes all my icons on my desktop appear blank, and as i use programs, whatever program i use randomly replaces these blank icons with their own...so, you can see what programs ive been using recently just by looking at what icons appear on my desktop...hehe

Winamp...crashes? Never experienced that... My version 2.76 has been very stable since I installed it several years ago. The only times it has crashed were during my memory problem.

This is my desktop, in fact it is my wallpaper....

What I did is I took a picture of my screen and modified everything and put that as my wallpaper. No it makes no sense, and my bosses think that I am working....

Mmm, Fluxbox.

It's running Slackware Linux 9.1, acts as an imagedump and hosts about 45% of Dreamviews members images, and therefore has to be on 24/7 (which is a hard to accomplish feat, considering we have tons of powercuts).

In the top right you can see loads of slit applications. Top one is a clock, and the fish are animated (bubbles too!). Quite cool. Second one is a CPU usage monitor, the amount of water shows how much CPU is being used. The rubber duck is just there because it can.

The third one is, you guessed it, uptime. It's pretty low (1 day), because we had a powercut very recently. The last one is my biorhytms. Right now my intelligence level is ultra low but increasing, physical is low and decreasing, and emotional is either way and increasing.

I've posted my desktop on another forum, under a different name, I'd like to keep that separate. That's why I will give a general description of the background image.

I found a high resolution picture of the front cover of A Perfect Circle's first album, Mer de Noms. Then I inverted the colors so they would be white and light blue instead of black and orange/red.

I'm a simpleton though. Before that I had a plain darker green color.

I always found the Google Desktop more cumbersome than useful. As for docks, I don't find much added use or visual appeal in them for the limited amount of programs on my computer.

Well, I'm running short on RAM anyways, so I guess I can't really do much to this PC for a while. $20 more bucks till I get the upgrade. . .

Google desktop is a great program, the sidebar, however, is not so good. It takes up precious screen real estate and doesnt match my color scheme.

Docks rule but i only keep my frequently used programs in my dock. I don't like the start menu.

Bill Gates has all the money he needs, he should team up with Steve and Linus and make the most ruly operating system ever! it would be compatible with all windows programs, use apple's spectacular GUI, yet still be just as robust and secure as linux! Only a dream now, sigh.

I don't mind start menues so much. And I really, really dislike Google desktop. It wastes away precious RAM and doesn't do much of anything for me. That MusicBrainz Tagger you mentioned is awesome, though. I loaded it last night out of curiousity and it worked wonders for my music library.

About time I gave this thread a kick in the arse. Anyway, new, completely dejunked desktop. I plan on somehow removing that annoying recycle bin icon, too. Anyway, the start menu's up on the top now, and appears when you mouse over it, and I finally gave in and downloaded a dock to appear on the bottom when you mouse over it. Other than that, I'm trying to keep it completely clear of clutter just 'cuz I can.

Plus, right click on the icons on the bottom right of the screen and go to properties and then customize then make sure "unused desktop icons wizard" is on and then let it run... it puts all unused icons in a folder for you ;)

No, seriously, guys. That many icons is really, really bad for you. It slows up your computer, and when you have that many, it doesn't make access significantly easier. Take a page from my book, toss the icons out, maybe put Firefox, iTunes, Thunderbird or a few programs you use DAILY in the quick launch tray, and pin everything else to the start menu. Trust me, you'll thank me later.
