Probably.

I thought I'd tell everybody on the forums, in case any of you wonder where I've gone. I'm Probably not going to be around much on the net for the next week or so, because I'm probably moving out of home and going flatting... I don't know if that's a NZ term or not... it basically means, gonna go rent with a bunch of other students. I'll be on every now and then, but nowhere near as much over the next week or two. I'll have a computer and internet at the new place, if I go there, so that's not gonna be a problem. So... yeah. Probably, finally moving out from living with mum, getting my own place. With others of course. I have shitloads of money for a student, so, I'm not gonna be living in a hovel or anything.

I probably said probably to many times in that last paragraph, probably.

Hooray for independance. I guess. :?

Like... I'm kinda excited, if it does end up happening which it probably will, but I'm kind of daunted as well. Yeah...

This announcement was brought to you by the letters Q, G and F, and the number Four.

Hahahaha. :cooler:

Congrats on the independence, man. :goodjob2: I hate to leave mom here alone since dad passed last year, but I've stuck around to help out as long as I can really deal, and I'm about to pack it up, too. lol

Good luck with that!

Yeah, it's a specific place I have in mind. Three of my mates were flatting there, but two have moved out. I know the other flatmates already, plus the ones that are moving in, so, yeash...

SONGS!

The Blue Meanie

Okay, I still can't decide whether to go flatting or not. I'm strying to make up my mind... so... i'm gonna start a competition!!! To decide for me!

So, what I'm gonna do, is choose 9 of my favourite music artists, and listen to a random song from each. I'm gonna decide what each song's trying to tell me to do. And, that way, the artists are gonna vote on what I should do... so, without further ado...

[size=24]MATT'S CELEBRITY PANEL OF JUDGES WHO ARE GONNA DECIDE WHETHER HE GOES FLATTING OR NOT!!!

1) Ben Harper
2) The Eagles
3) Steevie Ray Vaughan
4) Pearl Jam
5) Garbage
6) Alanis Morissette
7) The Beatles
8) Queen
9) Sublime

So, I'm gonna listen to a random song of each, and I'm gonna tell which song, along with which one the song is voting for, out of either "Flatting" or "Home".

Confused? Thought so. Me too. Hence why I'm running this stupid competition. That, and I'm mega-bored.

Okay. The first judge:

His Honour, Ben Harper, in his judgement entitled "Give a Man a Home", voted:

In favour of going flatting.

Ben Harper's judgement had strong undertones of angst, trying to find a home, etc. So, I think that's what he voted. So, the score currently stands:

In Favour of Flatting: 1
In Favour of Staying at Home: 0

/me smacks his gavel down on the Judge's bench.

Quiet in the galelry, or I have security haul your ass outta here, young missy!

Now, our second Judge, Their Honours, The Eagles, voted:

In favour of Staying Home!

The judgement of the Eagles, entitled "Life in the Fast Lane", is deceptively rousing and at first appears in favour of going out and flatting, "living in the fast lane". But, when one listens to the lyrics, one finds that, in fact, the judgment instead describes how quickly one can tire of life in the fast lane, and how unproductive and empty it can be.

So,

In Favour of Flatting: 1
In Favour of Staying at Home: 1

In favor of martinis: 1

The Blue Meanie

I, Also, would like Martinis. However, the only alcohol I have is wine and Tia Maria. I'm drinking the Tia.

Our Third Judge, his Honour, Steevie Ray Vaughan, in his wise and catchy judgement "Mary Had a Little Lamb", conveys a sense of independance and activity which corresponds with flatting. Mary's going out with her lamb, and doesn't need nobody else. SO!

In Favour of Flatting: 2
In Favour of Staying at Home: 1

Hmm....do we get to vote to add to the total of teh musical votes?

In favor of martinis: 2

<EDIT: In favor of TIA: Matt....and now Courtney, who feels icky about it>

The Blue Meanie

Okay, our Foursth Judge, Their Honours, Pearl Jam, in their judgement, "Nothingman".

This was a REAL tough one. A tricky judgement, hard to decipher. Very deep and meaningful, though. It's slow paced, and speaks of stagnation, etc. Talks of a prison cell. I think their Honours are trying to warn me of the stagnation that may happen if I stay at home. I might become Nothingman, I need to move out and be more than nothingman. So... the score stands at...

In Favour of Flatting: 3
In Favour of Staying at Home: 1

Of course, this is by no means decisive. More judgements to come...

And by the way... if Tia Maria were a woman... oh gods...

Courtney Mae

Courtney gets Tia first.

<EDIT: hahaahahahaha

Matt Vinsen: NOOOO
Matt Vinsen: you dont get the tia first!
Matt Vinsen: Shes MINE
Matt Vinsen: /me cuddles his tia protectively >

The Blue Meanie

No you damn well dont. She's mine. ALL mine. Oh Tia... oh, Tia...

Okay... our Fifth Judge.... Her Lovely Freaking Drop-Dead-Gorgeous Honour, Shirley Manson, in Garbage...

Her judgement, "Right Between the Eyes", is rebellious and anti-authoritative as susual. Independant, etc. "Life's a Bitch and then you Die". Yeah. Make the most of know. Her judgment is very clear: Go flatting.

In Favour of Flatting: 4
In Favour of Staying at Home: 1

Oh, Tia, I love you...

Courtney Mae

Nooooo. Tia's mine first.
ladies first.

:hump:

The Blue Meanie

Our Sixth Judge, Tia Maria...

Uhhh... I mean Alanis Morissette...

Her Honour, that is...

She votes in favour of staying home, in her judgment, "Hand in my Pocket". The judgement is not what I expected. It talks of constancy, yet independance. Like... maybe Alanis is saying that I should stay home, but maintain some level of aloofness and get out more.

In Favour of Flatting: 4
In Favour of Staying at Home: 2

Courtney Mae

Hey, when you finish the bottle of Tia, spin it, and maybe she could decide too.

The Blue Meanie
07-03-2006, 08:28 PM
Noo, that's mean. I'm not spinning Tia. Got to treat her nicely, not roughly.

Our Seventh Judge, Their Honours, the Beatles: "Get Back".

"Get Back to where you once belong" OBvious. Stay at home.

In Favour of Flatting: 4
In Favour of Staying at Home: 3

Courtney Mae
07-03-2006, 08:29 PM
In favour of Tia: 2

The Blue Meanie
