well I just awoke from a dream and i've had a long dry spell.. and never really had an intentional lucid dream (meaning, intend before I go to sleep and actually have one that night). It usually happens when I catch something wierd going on and then I RC and become lucid. So anyway, I just awoke from this dream and in this dream I was outside talking to my step father and all of a sudden the sky turned from daytime to nighttime, like someone flicked the switch. I then started freaking out because I realized everything during the day was wierd and my step father suggested I was "sleepwalking". I went through that whole scenario with the impression that I was "sleepwalking" which should have cued me to become lucid. bloody hell! these dream characters always try and help you rationalize crazy scenarios! After writing in my journal I noticed there were at least 4 dreamsigns (including technology failure.. my car.) in there but for some reason they didn't cue me (the rationalization once again). Does this ever happen to any of you? I thought I remembered reading in EWOLD that lighting usually cannot change, in a later chapter I remember him saying that the limits of your dream world are only on your imagination.. meaning, if you think you can't read a clock, you can't.. but if you think you can you will ect. ect.
what would help this? keeping better/more journals? more RC's? it's been a long very slow progression thus far to become lucid at will...

You know, I would actually take this as solid progress! You're getting the idea of lucid dreaming or just dreaming in general into your subconscious. It's a sign that you're going in the right direction, so just keep it up.

As for me, I even tried WILDing in my dreams... twice. Neither time worked, but when I woke up I was like, "Crap!" I've also had conversations with people about LDing and never even thought that I might be dreaming at the time. Ugh, it's annoying, but don't feel alone. I even had a dream once where I took control after I said, "You know, if I were dreaming I would do this!"

I really hate missing obvious dream signs!!!!

When you wake up you feel like such an idiot when you missed things that were way beyond obvious. Major grrrrrrr

Lol, this reminds me of a time when I narrowly missed becoming lucid. In the dream I was walking around naked and I started talking to some dudes who were standing around. They made some kind of joke about me being naked, and I laughed with them. Then I said, "Yeah, usually when I'm walking around naked it means I'm dreaming, but I know I'm not right now!" Then as I was walking away I was like ".....hmmm..... wait a minute...." Then I woke up immediately after realizing that I was, in fact, dreaming.
