View Full Version : First step to get WILD - finally

Hiya,

it's hard to believe, yesterday I replied to a similar post, but now it happened eventually to me.

So far I have only had a few MILDs but made no progress at all in attaining WILDs - when I try to fall asleep conciously, either I'm too awake and conscious to fall asleep at all, or I'm way too drowsy to remain conscious. Last night, however, I used LaBerge's counting method, where you count "1 - I'm dreaming; 2 - I'm dreaming" etc. After a while a had a falling sensation and heard a loud noise in my head. It was a fealing similar to fainting. Then I felt that I became paralyzed, which was quite terrifying.

The mean part was, I did not become lucid at all but had a false awakening instead ! This is extremely stupid, because this false awakening was full of my dream signs, which I did not recognize. Finally, I woke up for real.

How can I enter a lucid dream when I manage falling asleep consciously ?

This is creeping me out! I tried that counting method this morning too! Actually, I started off trying the white dot technique, and then the lotus/flame technique, when I couldnt get to sleep trying those I finally decided to start counting...one...imdreaming...two...snufflepuff, and off I am to sleep. But no lucid dream!!! I had 2 dreams! both wierder than hell, yet I still dont question myself whether im dreaming in my dream! ahh

However, I did do one WILD the other day! read my other thread

Hmmm, I am gona pick that book up hehe seems to be losa good stuff in it..

Well anyways, give this a shiot, use the counting technique untill you reac a point where you start getting that weird feeling, You know what im talking about, once you get to that point try my technique of imagining yourself doing something, this will give your imagination something to build on during that initial crossing over.

I think the problem is when you cross over and there is just some repeating dull (cant spell monotonous<=dont look right) thought in your head you end up in the void.
For alot of us creation is a difficult thing to do and so you end up sitting there in void, consious but unable to create the world around you.?

let me know if that helps at all =)

Hmm I will try again. Last night, I counted until 300 then I gave up. Maybe I need to use relaxing techniques, I often can't fall asleep at all when trying to WILD.

Thanks for your hints, though.

I think the biggest thing is you gotta be tired for this to work, you cant just drop off into sleep unless you have some really good meditative skills.

:D :D

I think it worked for me last night. I had some sort of false awakening, which is good. Also, I think I might have had some sort of a lucid dream, or I might have written I will have a lucid dream a bunch of times... :oops:

about what number do you each get to before you start to get that feeling?

Depends. I found it a waste of time directly after going to bed, I've countend until 300 then gave up, because I couldn't fall asleep at all. It's more fruitful when you set your alarm in the middle of the night, then I needed to count to about 50.

Ehm, just one question that's probably answered dozens of times before: What does WILD and MILD stand for? Or rather the "W" and "M" because i guess "ILD" stands for Induced Lucid Dream?

WILD= Wake INICIATED lucid dream

MILD=Mneumonic INICIATED lucid dream

MNEUMONIC=spelling???

DILD=Dream INICIATED lucid dream(same as MILD)
