Since im feeling under the weather and cant get to sleep...
What do you think about being sick? Do you think it will lessen your chance of dreaming?
I myself have barely any recall because of school to begin with, but i would think lessen recall.

The absolute most vivid and intense experiences of all are the Near Death Experiences.
The Ascetic and Contemplative Religious Orders don't eat meat, when they are eating at all, since they often fast, that is, go entirely without food, and they work and pray at all hours, depriving themselves of sleep. They do this for perhaps two reasons. They are afraid of sexuality, and running down their health makes it so much easier to be celebate, AND a depleted health has more vivid Visions and Dreams.
I think what may be happening is an effect like in chemistry, where released valances give off a great deal of energy. As one's health declines, tissue breaks down and this gives off energy -- energy that can be put toward Dreams and Visions.
Of course it is better to simply have a full store of healthy energy -- plenty enough to supply the needs of an occassional Dream and Vision.
But if you are looking for some consolation in being really really sick, well, here you go. The Fevered and Sick mind has many a Vision.

When I was a little sick and stressed because of school, I didn't have good dream recall at all (usually I remember at least 1-2 dreams a night, then i wasn't remembering anything).
Maybe it depends on how sick? Mine was just a cold/flu and it lessened my dream recall.

I had a high fever last night.
And funny enough, instead of weakening dream recall / lucidity, it STRENGTHENED it.
I kept waking up, and once I started to sleep from about 8:40 AM, to wake up at 9:28 AM.
And as far as I know, I had a Lucid dream of 6 hours.
Maybe it's just me, I don't know. But it didn't include any ''time shifts'' that ''simulate'' passing time.
So it lengthened my dream, and made it more vivid.

to me too colds and flu are source of very strange dreams. lucids too, but almost only when it's spring allergy. i think it's because the full nose disturb the sleep and keep it not deep...

I have been mildly sick lately, and it seems my dreams have become more dark and scarey... does anyone else get like that when they are sick (at all?)
