Well, the night before last I had an interesting dream, and in it something happened that had never happened before. In the dream I was looking for a knife and decided to look in this room where the really good ones were kept. Anyway, I ended up in this room, but then I essentially couldn't change what I was looking at. Off to my left in my periphoral vision I could see this bed and to my right I could see the edge of the room I wanted to be in, but I couldn't change that image. I tried turning and even felt my feet moving slowly clockwise, but nothing changed.

After about a minute or two (it was a lengthy-ish period of time), this panther appeared and when I reached out to touch it then the dream shifted and I was able to move again, though I wasn't in that room any longer.

Has anyone experienced this? I'm fairly certain that I knew that I was dreaming, but I was more interested in trying to figure out why this was happening rather than try to change it. Any thoughts?

I've seen a black panther walkign towards me when i was once deep in HI.
Vex, recently had a dream about a Black cat as well. strange coincidence.

I don't think i've ever been frozen. but i think it's quite common among dreamers.

I had a dream a few weeks ago that I was at a carnival, but was in this stall looking for something (still can't remember what) and when I looked at this table - I kinda got stuck on it - I could tell there was a curtain to my left and some sign I was interested in checking out (I think it had some porn image on it, don't ask) but I couldn't actually look at it. It was like whenever I moved - the scene moved with me - I could turn my head but I was still looking at the same thing. It was weird, I woke up before it went back to "normal". Not sure if it's the same, but it was still weird.

I've never had anything like that before, but I have had some instances in which the scenery was a little choppy as I was turning. Kind of like watching a video on a slow computer or from a CD that could not source the frames fast enough.

Interesting, I wonder if all of this is a function of the brains ability to paint reality sometimes?

I have had dreams were things stood still and that was that.
