Alrite, I dont know if its working or not, but I picked up some B6 (250mg a caplet) in hopes of helping me attain lucidity. Now, I took one (250mg) the day I got them, before I went to bed, and fell asleep. I woke up around 3:00am, heart racing and I was sweating. I didnt remember anything though. The next day I tried taking one again. Same thing, woke up around 3:00, but this time I felt normal, but again, couldnt really remember anything. I took about 3 days off, and I slept normally, not waking up until my alarm went off at 6:00. Then last night I took 2 caplets (500mg) and went to sleep. Again, I woke up at around 3:00, but didnt really remember anything, then it took me a while to go back to sleep.
I dont know if anything is actually happening, or if its just that my recall SUCKS! Any help on this? Even better, any help on my Recall?

I've tried B6 a few times, also with no positive results. Neither my recall nor the vividness of my dreams were affected; although the first time I tried it, I had serious difficulty falling asleep. :undecided: I think different people just have different reactions to it.
Edit: I forgot to mention that the first couple of times I used B6, I used it in conjunction with Zinc. The most recent time I took the B6 by itself.

I take B6 when I'm working on lucids around 2-3AM (200mg) and notice huge detail and clarity/vividness in my dreams when I take it. :)

It seems odd that you would wake up during or before the time that your melatonin levels are the highest. Maybe the B6 is overstimulating your brain and you wake up?

250mg may be a little much. 50-100 seems to work well for me.

250 mg seems to be a bit much yeah.
Also, there was a topic around titled "Why B6 won't work for you". You should search for it for more details, but summarized in one line, it's basically about that B6 alone tends to not work really well.
You should buy Vitamin Complex pills (b6, b12, and a lot more), because a combination of Vitamins tend to work well. Also, having more food in your stomach tends to neutralize the vitamins a bit.

I took 100mg of B6 this morning at 6 and woke up by 11. No dream recall.

Honestly guys, after all my research in neurology and nutrition about b6... it does not really help memory recall as much as it seems to be hyped up to be. Now I believe that a majority of these pills are working mostly on the placebo effect (which is good, by the way).
However, I believe b6 should be ingested about an hour before bed. Please, do not take excessive doses. The FDA claims that both males and females need only to take 2 mg perday. Keep that in mind.
When taking doses over 250 mg for about a week; the bodies blood plasma reaches a consistent concentration which residually effects the half-life of the pills. If you consistently take the pill, it will probably lose it's effectiveness and simply become more ritualistic than anything. Furthermore, excessive doses make you have to pee more.
I hope I have been enlightening.

I wasted 10 bucks on a pack of B6 tablets, Im'a try B12 see if that works. I think you should too, I know that you have a shitty recall just like me.

I think you might want to edit the placebo part out :roll: I guess knowing about it being placebo screws up the effect for people (including myself. as soon as I knew certain things were placebo, they just stopped working). You didn't spoil it for me, I stopped taking it a long time ago.

Edit: I wanted to add that I mean to say that you have the ability to overcome consciousness of the placebo effect. Your mind is stronger than you may give it credit for.

I know, I know. But having a placebo effect without knowing it's placebo is easier than achieving the same effect with willpower. ;P
no matter how many times ive used b6 it didnt work for me, but when i stopped....that made a huge difference my dream recall,vivdness and lucidity was boosted enourmously, not a CLUE how that works, but meh whatever.

B6 has a radom effect on me. It seems there is a 1/3 chance of it not working for me. When it does work, my dreams seem alitle bit more vivid, which may make me remember more. One time it gave me a very odd dream...

Our body requires a particular amount of many minerals ans such. Most of which it excretes if it has more than it needs. Lets say like VITMAN B. An over usage will only lead too toxicity.
I really don't see how this all got started that you have to pump yourself up with this B6 vitamin. Sure it helps cognitive functioning. But if that is the case take the recommended dose regularly rather than this ongoing attempt at these efforts to pop all this B6 vitamin with the hope it will miraculously bring upon lucidity.
