Ever since I've joined this site, I have been able to recall dreams. But now, I remember so much! My recall since about two weeks ago has gone up like an exponential curve. Now, I can recall about three dreams per night. I recalled about five dreams (including two short ones) last night! They are becoming more vivid too, and I am starting to wonder why I can't attain lucidity. I have noticed that I recall dreams from the morning, from about 3 onwards.

So, a few questions:

1. If I can recall so much now, can I stop dream journalling?
2. Sometimes I get nights (1.5 nights per week average) where I remember nothing at all. Is that a bad sign?
3. Does anyone else try VILD (in tutorials, Visually Incubated LD)? It's what I prefer, but it could be considered as a lazy method.

Whenever I try autosuggestion, FILD, or MILD I fall asleep to quickly and it seems like the method was a waste of time.

4. What method do you use?

I'll appreciate anything! Please post.

Well shoot...
keep dream journaling, or else you will stop recalling your dreams as much!

It's awesome that your dream recall has improved that much. Do you wake up and write them down in the journal after each dream? I do and after awhile I thought I could stop using the journal as much but I would start regressing again. My theory is that when you're use to waking up after every dream which is usually about every two hours right? You don't automatically wake up but throughout the dream your mind starts gradually awakening making dreams more vivid and giving greater chance for having a lucid dream. Also waking up your mind enough to recall details and writing them coherently helps with the next dream. So I would say keep on using you dream journal.

The nights you remember nothing at all, were you really tired or do you go to bed later? It could just be due to deeper sleep.

I don't really use any methods for my lucid dreams, they usually just are DILDs but WBTB and the dream journal makes them a lot more likely for me.

It's different for everyone but I hope I helped.

By the way where is your avatar from?

1. If I can recall so much now, can I stop dream journalling?[/b]

No! You should always keep a dream journal.

2. Sometimes I get nights (1.5 nights per week average) where I remember nothing at all. Is that a bad sign?[/b]

No, this is completely normal. You'll have good days and bad days. No worries.

3. Does anyone else try VILD (in tutorials, Visually Incubated LD)? It's what I prefer, but it could be considered as a lazy method. [/b]

Do whatever works for you. If you like VILD, and you're seeing some improvement with that method, then by all means, stick with it and develop it.

4. What method do you use?[/b]

About 95% of my LDs are DILDs. I don't really do anything special to induce them other than know what my most current dreamsigns are. By recognizing dreamsigns, I always have it in the back of my mind that if I find myself observing a dreamsign, I could be dreaming, and viola! I'm lucid.

I would never be able to learn what my dreamsigns are without my dream journal. Keep journalling!

Ok, sorry guys it was five dreams...I must of had a mental block or something stupid like that. I thought "Yay five dreams...what was it? Yeah including two short ones...Yay Seven!" (being the dumbass I am) I'll edit the top post now.

[/b]

No, I don't have the energy for that. And sometimes I end up writing them down at the end of the day, if I have a busy one. But that means I also pay the price of forgetting one or two. Yesterday I was busy after some writing, and I was writing for about half an hour and I thought, "I'm gonna write the last dream later..." But then I forgot what the dream was, even though at the time I thought I wouldn't forget...
Most of the time I write them down in the morning.

It was probably about one or two hours, and the nights that I recall nothing from are just as ordinary as every other night.

Yeah those two methods are very popular, I aiming for them now.

I forget what I first typed in google, but when I found their actual site...WHOA! Check it out!

Anyway, thanks everyone for tips etc! Sorry Primus7, it was 5! :D

Hope to see more comments. Oh, another question, what's SP? I posted that somewhere...

SP: Sleep Paralysis. Basically, when you're asleep, there is a chemical that keeps your body still so you don't act out your dreams and sometimes it doesn't immediately wear off upon waking.

Sometimes when you're falling asleep, you can feel your body go into SP. I haven't personally, but it's not that uncommon.

Ok, cool. :D

There's another thing I noticed. How come I can recall? :D I mean, you can't start a dream journal without recall, so what do you think triggers it?

I think it has something to do with having the confidence that a DJ will will work.

I think recall comes when you start thinking of your dreams as important.

Yeah that's probably it. Not only that, my autosuggestion for recall still gives me heaps, like I still wake up after every dream period (I don't always want to though). :)

However my autosuggestion for attaining lucidity hasn't worked yet...I'm so unlucky it's been three weeks so far and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. But that should be in another topic.
