Hey all,

My son has taken an interest in being able to create flash videos. Any suggestions on a cheap/free package to get him started?

The demo is free and fully-functional, and works for 30 days.

After 30 days you can get a cheap education version for $99 ( I think ). He has to prove he's a student, just send a photocopy of an ID card or something ( It doesn't have to be a college ).

I haven't used flash in years, so the prices may have changed, but I know my old school ordered massive quantities of Flash MX from journeyed

Bittorent. You'll have a fully functional copy of flash on your computer in under 10 minutes with a broadband connection. The only problem is it's illegal, though the chances of getting caught are nil. I did this, but I didn't end up using it. The only reason I haven't deleted it completely is that the installer service is screwing up, so I can't remove it.

Depends on where you're from.
Here, in the Netherlands, you can download movies, full applications, games, whatever - all legally. It becomes illegal as soon as you distribute it and it's no longer for personal use.

So you're saying you can "illegally" download for example every south park episode ever, and as long as you're not using it commercially or actually sharing it, then you are being legal? And you can buy pot in coffeeshops? I'm moving to Holland :)!

I don't think you'll get sued for south park episodes. The creators have said themselves that when they need to see one of their episodes while on vacation or somewhere else for whatever reason they download it.

I can just download a south park episode legally. A movie legally. Flash MX legally. I can download the fucking Matrix legally, as long as I use it for personal use.
And yes, you can buy weed in coffeeshops legally, starting at 18.

I never said i'd get sued for it. I actually mentioned that while it's illegal, there is no way in hell you'll actually get caught.

The second you make a single cent off a flash made with a stolen copy its illegal however. Keep that in mind.

yeah well sometimes in life you just gotta steal.... i mean its pretty expensive and who has the money they wanna spend. i have made tons of movies and its really fun... i actually have a website full of my crap

LOL, you're cartoons suck in an awesome way. Like they aren't exactly amzing works of art, but they're still really cool, and are a lot more than I could do, so I gotta hand it to ya, nice. :) Especially the south park one. South park is sick, I downloaded every season ever except the last 2 episodes, which weren't in the package, on saturday.

My favourite episode is good times with weapons. I've seen every episode except the one that just ended.... 5 minutes ago.
