View Full Version : Who Uses Audio To Induce?

I've talked about audio in other threads, but have never really asked everyone here directly - and I'm curious, who around here specifically uses audio to induce their lucids?
I'm trying to get an idea of the true success rate of those who use it.
I have to try and keep my audio quiet in my room, and have so far been faced with problems of very uncomfortable earbuds while sleeping, and the audio actually waking me up. So I can't really add here yet as I've never really got to take advantage of it during a dream.
What I'm mostly curious about, is what actually happens for you folks when the audio plays in the dream? Do you specifically hear the words, and get an assured automatic reminder for a reality check? Or is it relatively easy for the audio to be unsuccessful in the dream?
I have tried Phoenelai's mp3 so far and will continue, has anyone had success with any others they would like to list besides this? Anyone have advice on your own instruction technique?
I'd just like this to be a general information thread about the effectiveness of audio to induce.
Hopefully better technique can possibly be gathered from the input.

The idea of AILDs totally fascinates me. Tonight I am going to experiment with a couple of sound files. I have one called "Brainwave Entertainment Theta - Alpha Short Nap Lucid Dreaming and Visualization (Hypnosis)" and another called "Hemi-Sync - Brainwave Mind Voyages - Lucid Dreaming - (08) Lucide Induction Mantra" The first one is a kind of static that plays for 20 minutes and the second is ongoing weird but relaxing noises and a guy who keeps reminding you to check if you're dreaming. I am going to play him first and the static second and see how it does. I will post my results. :D

Okay last night I didn't have any lucid dreams but I had very good dream recall when I woke up. I will try again tonight but I won't post again unless I get any real results! :D

There are a couple of popular Audio Cds on the market that is suppose to enhance lucid dreaming. Hemi-sync technology by the Monroe institute is one and better yet is the Holosynce series.
I have a audio CD that works wit h bineral beats. It is white noise and changes in frequency through the hour long CD.
This is the only one I feel I have had any success. The down side is that it is not intended to support lucid dreams. More synronicity of the mind and calming effects.

The first time I tried to use an mp3 to induce a lucid dream, I tried to fall asleep while listening to the Mp3, that lasted about an hour then I took my headphones off and went to sleep. I did end up having a lucid dream, not sure if it was related. The next day I downloaded a alarm clock and set it to play the Mp3 after about 5 hours of sleep. I clearly heard the voice in my dream telling me to remeber to do a reality check, and I did I put my finger through my hand :) I've done it about six or seven times.

every time i try and use audio, it keeps me up, and i focus to much, I tried a BWG last night, and that started working then it shut off, which woke me up. so i'm having some problems right now, but i know if i can get it to go off in the middle of my sleep, it would work. Because when i do fall asleep with music, it is completely oriented into my dream. I was listening to devendra banhart and his music was revolving around my dream, really cool.

Hey dream,
ZenVortex and myself have been using many techniques with audio, some with the auto suggestion speech/voice others with binural beats, drones etc. I have to say although all do work, the most effective
have been the auto suggestion. In most of my lucids posted here, when audio was the trigger. I actually heard the voice in dream telling me that I was dreaming. Typlically I play the file around 3AM until I wake up, it usually creeps in one of the later REM periods when your more alert. Although I think its a good idea also to play before bed because its effective programming before you sleep.

Yeah, I've actually made my own audio track (with a different program); it helps to make the sounds fade out - very slowly so you don't notice it; so they don't "shut off" as you said. Not sure what BWG can do though.
But I had a semi lucid last night (I concluded what it was) but I'm not sure if it's related to my music, because that was the second night I had listened to it before sleep. :|

Last night I mixed a ZenVortex file with auto suggestion script and a schumann resonance mp3 and combined them. I played from 3 until 6 AM. In the later part of the morning I had a dream where a woman was telling me the statement, this is a dream! I started to go lucid but pop'd up to awake conciousness!

I have tryed the Lucid Dreaming Series(http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3403831/Lucid_Dreaming_Series)
I am trying everything i can but nothing works... :(
I really want to get my first lucid dream...
I use a program called 'Neuro Programmer (http://www.transparentcorp.com)', and it works fairly well both for dreams and other things. My experience is you don't have to use it all the time, as your brain gets 'accustomed' to the entrainment and starts doing it on its own. So, using it once in a while yields the best results for me. Trying it every day is just tiresome, however.

I've been listening to the Hemi-Sync series for a couple of nights, and last night i almost had a first WILD. I've also been listening to the lucid dream induction mp3s from WarpMyMind with no sucess, but they're usually able to relax me quite a bit. Good luck.

Does anyone have experience using The Beyond Being Altered States Collection? Here is the description from their website:
Volume 1: "Spiritual, Paranormal, Out-Of-Body" - Volume 1 induces a brainwave pattern where spiritual, paranormal and out-of-body experiences are most commonly reported. Highly developed and based on the work of Maxwell Cade, Dr. Edgar Wilson, James Mann and hundreds of reports from users of our brainwave technology, Volume 1 is the perfect tool to give you easy, headphone-free access to the rarest of mental states - states that people spend lifetimes trying to achieve.
Typical experiences while using this volume: Lucid Dreaming, Spiritual Awakening, Paranormal Phenomena, Out-Of-Body (OOBE), Personal Transformations, Feeling of "Floating".
I'm thinking about getting it since I'm very curious to try it. But I would also want to know if anyone else already tried and what their experiences were.
Thanks

I use audio quite a bit...but dont think that someone's claim that their entrainment files are better than anyone elses, its simply not true. None of these files can make anything happen. Any entrainment work takes lots of time and patience and practice on how to use them to your best advantage. I wouldnt expect and OOBE from these disc in other words but its your dime. :)

Woo hoo...audio file triggers a lucid!
click here (http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=22567&st=30&gopid=374102&#entry374102)
As long as I been using audio there's one thing I noticed. ZenVortex has his statements more spread apart as far as time is concerned. What works for me is the constant repeat of the statements with out much pause in between. This seems to work better for me, although some people will have a hardtime with constant statements bothering you. Fast repetition of the statements really work for me apparently.

Almost every night I lie in the bed, listen to the disco music and convince myself that I'll have a lucid dream. After a hour, I put headphones off and fall asleep (while convincing myself). This gives me several lucid dreams per a week.

Whenever I do a WBTB, I always go back to sleep with lucid music going, or before I go to sleep. Most of the time I've done this it gives me a lucid.

Brainwave Mind Voyages - Lucid Dreaming
I'm uploading this to the web as I'm writing this. Once it's done (in about 20 minutes) I'll post the link. I'm using (www.yousendit.com) so there can only be 100 downloads. I'll keep uploading it once 100 ppl downloads it.
If you guys have this type of mp3 files, please share them (the site I mentioned above works fine for this!). I personally want to get my hands on everything related to this.

Here is something that I came up with. The funny thing is that I have found myself waking up before it turned on which in itself has given me a lucid dream from hearing the suggestions.
What I have done and am still experimenting with is an old Panasonic tape recorder. I bought an AC adapter for it and a simple wall timer. I recorded my voice with suggestions like "you are dreaming" "is this a dream?" etc. etc.
I set the timer for early morning hours when I would be dreaming more and then let these subliminal autosuggestions in my own voice do their thing. A very inexpensive cue I might add.

I have an MP3 player with a small built in speaker that I can set to play an MP3 file at a specific time. (I tried sleeping with headphones and earbuds, but too uncomfortable)
I tried recordings with my own voice, but these were disruptive.
I switched to recordings of a 'female' text to voice program.
Initially I tried commands - you are dreaming, you are lucid. However, in a dream when I heard this I felt like I was being yelled at. So now I use recording of questions "Are you dreaming. How did you get here?"
Its been a challenge to get the volume level right. Usually it just wakes me up. I RC with my alarm clock to be sure.
I've also been experimenting with when to play the MP3. If its too late in the morning I can't get back to sleep. If its too early, my dreams aren't vivid enough to keep me in the dream.
I've also tried hemi-sync before going to sleep. So far it has not helped with WILD or DILD.

Well, it helps me attain lucidity, but not every time. That's why I have only had seven lucid dreams, and not over a hundred. :D So, having said that, I'm not fully sure it helps me lol. I have gotten most of the music downloads from the 'Lucid Aids' forum, but can't find the links anymore. You could search through the pages if you want.
The only files I can (remember) link you to are from http://www.warpmymind.com/; you'll have to register. Once you have, search the files for "lucid dream induction" for example. They have long running files, that go for 15-30min, which I don't fully recommend, but they can get you into the trance state if you want that.
I have new perspectives though, listen to radical music, listen to dreamy music. You can listen to some of Palancar's fantastic music here:  http://meems.imeem.com/_k8L5m7R/music/ and one of my favourites: http://meems.imeem.com/_k8L5m7R/music/faNOaiCm/elysium_mons/
