hey all

so the first night i attempted LD i woke up 2wice to record my dreams. i didnt have to work that day so i didnt set my alarm clock. but even when i dont i still wake up at around 10. today however i didnt wake till about 2..

happen to anyone else? i think i was concentrating so hard on becoming lucid (never happened btw) that i just wouldnt wake up.

so i have resolved to set an alarm clock everyday now. but i am wondering if waking up at a decent hour when trying to become lucid all night will prevent me from having a good nights rest..

thanks in advance

concentration on lucid dreaming shouldnt lead to either sleep deprivation, or sleeping too much. however habits, food, and external factors aside from lucid dreaming can all effect sleep. for me personally, i have to get lots of sleep to lucid dream, but then its strange because unless i stay up really late, i wake up at 9am on weekends always. there are also several techniques to approach lucid dreaming, you could try finding something that works better, or think of your own way to be lucid.

what you can do is think a certain way to wake up at a specific time. simply called a mindset. you just "resolve" to wake up at a certain time, and believe that you will wake up then. this works with anyone regardless of lucid training, you just have to be open to different possibilities. for example, lets say i wanted to wake up at 11. I would just tell myself "I will wake up at 11am tommorow morning" and really mean it. then i would. its the same idea as waking yourself up from your dreams.

hope this helps, and hope that you still read this post..
