Myth: Caffeine has no health benefits.

Fact: Caffeine increases alertness and reduces fatigue thus enhancing the ability to work and concentrate. Caffeine also improves performance tasks that require one to be alert and enhances reaction time.
[/b] excerpt from "www.vivarin.com".

Pretty obvious what i'm trying to get across but incase it's not... would this keep you awake more? or would it help you concentrate on wilding? Stupid question... but I need sleep.

Opinions?

Hello,

Caffeine is a central nervous system stimulant, but beneficial only when used in low amounts, and that too sporadic. It is prescribed in very special circumstances. Prolonged use of caffeine is known to cause sleep disorders.

You may like to read up on the following -

2. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginf...pdi/202105.html (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/uspdi/202105.html)

The following is a view of how a common house-spider spun its web after being dosed with different drugs (NASA Study).

I would recommend avoidance of caffeine, especially if you are experimenting with Lucid Dreaming.

My two pence.

Regards,
Sanjay.

Nice post sanjaysagrawal. Pretty cool...The spider web thing.

Caffeine is a very underestimated drug. And a drug is what it is. I am no saint. I have used all of the above to get by on a groggy day.
But it is addictive and like most addictive drugs you will also have an experience of coming down. (like a sugar high)
Ironically I just sat down with a cup of coffee.

A lot of caffeine I have seen to have an effect of depression as well.
It is a great stimulant.
ephedra was even better.

So...since the spider made a better web while on benzadrine than caffeine, it must mean that caffeine is worse for you than benazdrine. Interesting.

Hello Howetzer,

Its part media advertisement, and part our own addiction that are to blame. Unfortunately, in all the gloss and the glitz, harmful effects get overlooked.

Cheers,
Sanjay.

Coffee is good for you. It prevents diabetes and gallstones, has antioxidants, and in some cases is necessary for life itself.

Hello Moonbeam,

Yes, very true. Coffee has all these benign properties, and more. But only when taken in moderation. That is the whole point - when we like the euphoria that a thing brings, we tend to do it in excess.

You may wish to read through the links I have posted earlier in this thread on how coffee can turn from benign to malignant.

Cheers,
Sanjay.

On the warning label it said "WARNING contains the amount of caffine in 5 cups of coffee" i thought "man this will really wake me up" i drank the whole thing in like 5 sec and waited for it to work, and it didnt i just ended up going to sleep. lol

I know I'm just kidding, except for coffee is necessary for life (mine). I am always glad when another study about how good for people coffee or tea is comes out. Everything in moderaton, of course.

Thanks for the info.
