Mild?

Im new to LDing and I just read the tutorial on MILDs. I was unclear on a few things though- What exactly happens when you fall asleep doing a mild? Do you go back to the first dream, or do you start a new dream? or do you just transition into a lucid like a WILD?

If anyone can help that would be great.

I don't think it starts any particular dream apart from a lucid one if successful, meaning that it helps your chances of getting a DILD.
