View Full Version : Aliens and sleep paralysis

I heard of alien encounters for a while. When I learned about sleep paralysis I thought that that was the real case and people just felt cases of that. What do you think?????
PS: Ice dawg, you spelt "oobes" wrong.

correcting the admin, eh? :-P
actually he didn't spell it wrong. it's Out Of Body Experience, but most people just leave off the "o" for "of".

I think Alien Abductions have a lot to do with fear, drugs(natural, non-natural, any and all), and stupidity. Mostly. I think dreams also account for some.
I also think that some people's "abduction experiences" happen while they are under the influence of mushrooms, or DMT. At least, a lot of research done among indigenous cultures of S. America suggest that is the case among their populous. Maybe white people are just more afraid though, I don't know(you don't read about many other abductions besides weird white guys, though I know they exist).
I think your sleep paralysis idea is good too, though.
I don't think there is a single thing that can explain abductions, but I do know that I CERTAINLY don't believe aliens have ever come down out of the sky and plucked up humans. If they had that kind of technology(or even existed), we'd either know, or all be dead. It's silly to assume "Aliens" are watching us "from above".

Ya. Since a while ago, I always beleived "life" on other planets would mean things as big as humans or bigger. A while ago I learned that it might just mean organisms, microscopic, but still an organism. I heard (from who's line is it anyway, so it might not be that true) that scientists found water on mars. There could be organisms in things like that...

Actually it wasn't water, it was frozen molecules that could create water... basically. And yes, life may have once existed there, may have not, who knows? It doesn't matter. Some scientists believe fungus didn't originate on earth(the fungi are alien!). There's a lot of far out theories. Nothing can be proved, yet.

i'm gonna have to agree with that...

A couple of jupiters moons have a higher probability of harboring life than mars actually Io and Europa, Io very tectonicaly active which might make it rough and Europa they beleive has liquid water under the frozen surface, and its possible that deep sea vents much like the one here on earth exist and the Chemosynthetic bacteria that are found in our vents might also be found there...
Thats why they destroyed the last probe that was in orbit over there, they didnt want it accidently crashing into one of the moons and possibly contaminating them with life from earth.
why do you think it is so unlikely that aliens are watching us without our knowing it? if they have such good technology, they could easily hide from our radars and stuff. im not saying i think they are out there watching us, but it is far from impossible. besides, aliens would probably find it more interesting to watch us than to randomly kill us for no reason. you have been watching too many movies.
by the way, Mars Attacks is the best movie in the world!

If you discovered other life in the universe.... other intelligent life... would you just want to watch it? They'd either make contact friendly, or not... I don't believe that they would just sit and observe... and probe. I mean... come one, get real. Aliens are just the unexplainable. We'd know if real aliens were around any where. I don't think aliens are even really a relevent threat, considering we don't even understand ourselves.

I agrre with the guy with the weird picture. I doute there are going to creat faster than light vessels and cruise around the unvierse for intelegnt life. Just to watch us from a distance. If they can beam us up with light, y whats there to learn from us by probeing. Why not just ask another NEAR close intellegent being. ( or unless they cruise around the galixy following the pime directive)
well, what are we gonna do if we discover life on Io or something? we are gonna observe it for a while, at least, before we do anything with it.

That's assuming that we have the ability to take on the frame of mind of an alien, which is a pretty BIG assumption... One Problem is that too many people take the word "alien" and immediately attribute Hollywood, Sci-Fi channel, and other chariacatures. -Thinking too much in the box :!: It's also silly to assume that there is NOT alien (extraterrestrial, otherworldly, transdimensional, etc. etc, etc.) for the same reasons. Only weird white guys? -Seen too many Area 51/Roswell stories. I personally wouldn't take the stance that "aliens are out there" or "among us" simply because it's a moot point (if there are, it will become evident in God's timing) but I would say that we shouldn't discount the possibility of many kinds of beings, creatures, etc. existing beyond our ability to see or experience with our senses. Should we dwell on that or ponder it? Nope. I personally think it's just a distraction from the more important things in life -like dreaming :alien:

Well... I agree with you evangel. Simply because there ae probably a lot of "beings" that we don't understand or can't come into complete contact with yet. For instance... the DMT beings that everyone seems to see/hear/feel/etc. while in that realm.

Aliens could also be us from the future...
anywhoo...
You travel a long ways and find a civilization that is busy destroying itself...
Are you
A: Going to go down, say "Hi check all this neat crap we have that you can play with and probably totaly anihhalate yourselves with because you arent ready to play with the big toys"... or worse, our itchy trigger fingers points to the aliens themselves after we get the technology and end up fighting with them?
or
B: Simply watch and observe the nature of a species of life that is totaly different from your own, finding out all its little nuances, waiting to see if they can make it through this pivotal point in their history, where they might just end up blowing themselves to peices..
Humanity is not ready.
People are smart
Populations... they are dumb.
Specially when it would cause all kinds of religious unrest to boot.
Many still beleive that the earth is the center of the universe so to speak.

Fuck Aliens, there are bigger things to think about.
I don't really care if they exist.
I'll let you know when I see one.

I think any intelligent being that manages to come to this planet also has the intelligence to make it's ship invisable...it's almost being done, record an image of what's behind you, and project it infront of you. You're invisable...so I dont really buy alien sightings.

Io is a seething cauldron of hell... You won't find much life there, 'cept maybe lawyers... And yes, they did find plenty of frozen water on mars, nothing liquid though... But there's some evidence to say it can sometimes bubble up from underneath...

No not on mars... on Europa... its a giant Ice ball, confirmed by the last jupiter probe.
Has a crust of Ice and a gooey liquid center... hehe ..
The tectonic activity evident on Io is also present on europa, but on a smaller scale, its due to teh intense gravitation from jupiter itself. This in theory keeps the planets core molten and near that core, the water is probably in a liquid form.
*shudder* lawyers
I am not too worried bout aliens and stuff either Second attention, there is much more important things to think about.. like where in the hell do my left socks go

Ermm, mars has a LOT of frozen water ice at the poles... And there's speculation that there's frozen (or even liquid) water under the martian crust that bubbles up from time to time...

Hello, I'm new here and this is my first post. So please be gentle. :D
I personally think that the alien abduction thing is sleep paralisis (sp?). The person gets scared and doesn't have a resonable explaination and possibly falls asleep then dreams of abduction.
I also think that aliens have observed us for years and now walk amongst us and are waiting for us to be ready for them to introduce themselves.
