View Full Version : Improving Dream Recall

The following is something I started doing a few months ago which has more than doubled my dream recall.

Although just about anything you would do that would improve your memory will help your dream recall, this one seems to work particularly well. The biggest problem with this method is the amount of time it consumes, but it does work remarkably well if you can find time to do it.

Here's the method:

Before going to bed, go back over the dreams you had the previous night, writing out a summary of their main points.
Do this from memory as much as possible by briefly looking at the dream you have already recorded and then writing it out again summarizing the main points of it.

To help with future lucidity, highlight any key points in your dreams where you feel you should have realized you were dreaming, and vow to realize you are dreaming the next time one of these things happens in your dream.

Let me know if this helps you or if you have any other ideas on how to improve on this.

Sounds like a good idea. Now if I can only remember to do it :p
Seriously, I'm working these days on memory improvement, and this can help, thanks : )

That sounds worth a shot and would really link to actual past dreams and subconcious events.
You don't have to re-invent the wheel and instead of remembering the house you lived in or something from your conscious, you work on a memory generated from your subconcious.
In theory this should work.

As for me. When I want to have higher recall, i make some relaxation and try to achieve SP when i get into bed. This makes me to sleep lighter and therefore makes my dreams more interesting. And somehow, when I awake, i want to write them all down.
