Listen through your headphones or it wont work, I can imagine some really nice relaxing ones appearing in the future, or busy streets etc, lots can be done with this. I have it on my phone :D.

wow, that's pretty amazing. Very very realistic. I think if you had great quality headphones it would work even better
Fuck, how did they do that. The snaps sound so realistic... that's pretty amazing. What would be even cooler is if they have like, music play that is like being in the middle of a band playing or something. Really cool, please PM me or post if they come out with more stuff like this

That was so weird, lol. The feeling of him standing behind you and cutting your hair, it's very realistic.

Its called holophonics.. Id imagine horror themed mp3's would be good with this style of encoding. walking through a garden, virtual therapy etc etc.
edit: guess you already realised it was holophonics :P

Yea that's just wow! the bag, and the snaps, and the scissors... so cool! Yea I can see meditation ones coming... the sea on the beach in surround sound... or the sound of underwater would be great.
Lol just showed it to my parents. Its really funny watching someone else listening to it, knowing what they're hearing.
omg imagine horror ones! I'd be scared stiff... which is kind of the point i guess...

It was a box of matches, and he struck one by each ear and then shook them around everywhere

Wow, everyone in my family had a go. The funny thing was they all started out as sceptics, "I don't want to do this, what's the point? etc." But by the end they were all saying how good it was and were considering the possibilities in the entertainment industry. really, really good. Thanks.

I listened halfway through it then I realized I needed headphones on... hehe... whops. I'll try it again once I come back from work, but I thought I'd leave a message here so that I'd remember to try it. It sounded pretty nice, even with just the speakers. :)
EDIT: Just listened to it... and wow, that's really sweet! Even on some $10.00 crappy headphones it sounded amazing! Granted, they're connected to some Klipsch speakers and a nice sound card, but still, the sound is coming out of the crappy earphones and it still sounded great!
Amazing!

I think all you need to do to achive this is record with a head-shape pair of microphones like this one:
http://www.neumann.com/?lang=en&id=cur...100_description (http://www.neumann.com/?lang=en&id=current_microphones&cid=ku100_description)
The sound entering each mic goes to the coressponding channel ( left or right ).
