So, i know that many people use meditation to help lucid dreaming. I was wondering if anyone know of some good websites which give instructions on meditation, or suggestions as to what styles of meditation are most helpful to lucid dreaming. I'm very interested on starting meditation as a daily practice to help relieve stress and help my lucid dreaming. I'm also interested in hearing how meditation has helped anyone with their lucid dreaming, or not helped if the case may be.
Much thanks :)

I use 2 different types of meditation, depending on what i feel like.
The first one i learnt about through reading about tibetan yoga. It involves concentrating on an object (they mostly use a picture of the tibetan letter A),

Thats a site which describes it quite well.
The other way is one i learnt from a friend, which just involves trying to clear your mind of conscious thought. If a thought occurs, you note it then let it drift away.
Both the techniques feel similar but the latter is better for trying to go to sleep and letting images appear, while the former is better if you want to actively imagine.
Hope that helps.

Hi akukei :) There have been many threads about meditation and lucid dreaming. I'm sure if you do a search you're bound to find some useful info.

Fundamentally, the technique described above where one focuses on a letter, such as the Tibetan letter A is meant to sharpen mental focus. The basic idea is that improved mental focus should lead to a reduced likleihood of getting swept up in the fantasies which manifest themselves in your dreams.
One method I have discussed (it's my own personal take on matters) is to focus on the letter A in my imagination, letting other thoughts quietly drift away and re-focusing on the letter A as necesassary. The twist I leverage however is to use brainwave entrainment to drive my electro-chemical activity to a state more consistent with dreaming (theta or alpha).
If you can maintain focus in a Beta state, that's great, but do you believe it's a good practice forum for dreaming? Perhaps not. By practicing meditation in a lower frequency state, I think you're more likely to improve on a skill which can transfer to your dream space. Again, my humble opinion only.

So you actually use the brainwave tapes while you're meditating? Interesting. BTW Tibetan Yoga of Dream and Sleep has been an interesting read so far. I especially liked what it had to say about Karma, which really personalized it and made me realize that its a very practical idea and doesn't have much to do with the world outside of your control. So thanks for the recommendation.
