I love anime, although.. I'm beginning to think only selective anime.
By far my favorite anime's are Ghost in the Shell and X, however, these are the ones that I own on DVD:
- Ghost in the Shell
- X
- Perfect Blue
- Blood
- Patlabor
- Ninja Scroll
- Amon Saga (cool cover, but disappointing movie..)
- Princess Mononoke
- Vampire Wars (ewww... why did I buy that?)
I think there's one more... ah well.

As I said in a previous post, I was once a (clean) otaku. Now, I'm very picky about the anime I watch. The whole girl/boy love misunderstanding crap gets old after awhile.
*Cowboy Bebop (Spike is the friggin MAN)
*Anything by Miyazaki-sama (Mononoke Hime; Spirited Away; Nausicaa and the Valley of Wind; Porco Rosso; Grave of the Fireflies (holy crap, I cried like a baby in that one!); Castle Cagliostro; Lupin III (I forgot the name of it...))
*.//Hack (I saw only the first few episodes, but I liked it)
*Serial Experiments: Lain (I understood it perfectly... why didn't any of my friends?)
*Tenkuu no Escaflowne (although Hitomi was sort of whiny and the end of the series was rather disappointing given how cool the rets of it was)
*Vampire Hunter D (classic stuff--watch the Japanese version though. I'm sort of a purest when it comes to anime)

Ooh! I like Inu-Yasha. I haven't seen the whole series yet though (and I'm still reading the manga). I've never seen Chobits, but the coverart for the manga looks beautiful.

That will have to be the next one I collect then. :) I'm almost done with MARS (the last book--#15--comes out next month). I'm so addicted to that manga. It's my favorite so far, hands down. It's a romance all the way, but it's not like any other anime/manga romance I've ever read before. It's way more realistic with lots of twists and turns in the plot. I highly recommend it if you haven't read it. Fuyuumi Soryou is the artist/writer (give or take a few vowels).

I could be wrong, but I think 'anime' means "irresponsible picture'. Actually, I think that's 'manga'. Oh well. Something like that.

hmmmm
S-Cry-Ed-loved this one
X-my all time favorite
Inuyasha-Good, but too many damn filler episodes and the series is LONG! Im on 125. Because of this anime, I refuse to watch any other anime longer than 40 or 50 episodes unless its supremely good. I've stopped watching Inuyasha...for now.
Trigun-pretty cool
Cowboy bebop-loved the ending
.hack//sign-very slow at first but gets interesting. Music is top-notch
Evangelion-mixed about this one. Loved the beginning/middle. Everything near the end sucked IMO. It had such great potential.
Fruits Basket-Romantic comedy anime. I liked it pretty much. When I first saw it, I thought it was going to suck. I was wrong
Blue Gender-Pretty good. weird, but good
Slayers-I absolutely loved this series. I didn't get to see all of the very last season*cries*
El-hazard-It looked pretty good, but I saw the dubbed(well only a few episodes) I would've enjoyed it more, but the VA was atrocious. I muted some parts it was so bad
Akira:the movie-I like pretty much anything involving psychics :P
Princess Hononoke-Kind of strange, but excellent none the less.
Im going to stop now....

I've noticed, from watching a LOT of anime and reading a LOT of manga, that the Japanese style of storytelling basically consists of pulling plotlines out of their ass. That is to say, a lot of what happens is unexpected and sometimes confusing to a non-Japanese viewer. Take Escaflowne. Without giving any storyline away, I can safely say that the ending is so far out there that you'll probably be scratching you're head.
Cowboy Bebop did this in every episode, except they did it with style (remember the episode "Toys in the Attic"?)
If you want a truly mind fucking experience, though, watch Perfect Blue. Watch it and tell me if you don't have a massive, throbbing migraine by the end of it. It's a good movie and all, but what the hell was it about?!

Yea, that was a great episode. Is perfect blue the one with the submarines, world is mostly covered in ocean, man is at way with sea-creatures?

No, that's something else. Perfect Blue is the one about an idol singer who wants to be an actress. That's about all I could figure out. :?

I have the ad for that on a few of my anime DVDs, it looked wierd. I love all kinds of anime, except for the cheesy, cheap or boring ones *Cough*'Pokemon'*Cough*.
I like: Akira, Cowboy Bebop, Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040(Sort of), Trigun, Orphen, Fruits Basket, Angelic Layer, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Vampire Hunter D, X, Spriggan :D , Escaflowne(Sort of), Ghost in the shell, there's a few others, but I can't be bothered to remember them.
Oh, and by the way, unless you're a big car nut, Initial D will bore the shit out of you. :|

The best curretly running anime is Bleach second best Naruto. I also like Ninja Scroll as does everyone. I can't stand Inuyasha and don't know why. Dragonball Z was good for awhile but can get old.

These days, I dont follow much anime anymore since the stories seem to just be rehashed cookicutter versions of some famous anime. But ya, Cowboy bebop was one of my personal favorites (Spike is just a revamped version of Lupin the 3rd). Nowadays, I just read manga (in raw japanese) since they have more time to develop stories and it tends to be more of what the author wants to say not what the sponsers know will sell.
Take, Death Note, for example, That is an amazing manga that I dont honestly see being made into an anime because over half of the dialogue is in the main characters' heads while they say something completely different. Basically, they are playing a game of chess/cat and mouse using the world as their board and the people around them along with what they say as the pieces. One wrong move could spell their doom. Without any action it manages to hold true to the title of 'suspense' and keeps you sitting at the edge of your seats for what will happen next week.
If you dont know about Death Note, I highly recommend checking it out. It is an amazing suspense manga between a killer that obtained the powers of a god of death (he just has to write people's names in a notebook and they die whichever way he wants) who decides to create a new world without criminals by giving them all heartattacks and an investigator trying to catch him. If you familiar at all with the manga turned anime, Monster, Death Note is quite similar but in a supernatural realm of sorts.
I help translate the recent chapters here...

OMG I love anime.
I am currently into Trigun, Naruto, IGPX, Bo..., Zatch Bell, Samurai Champloo, Digimon, and Dragon Drive. I'm on cloud nine because I just read that there's going to be a 5th season of Digimon.

I saw an anime film when I was young, I never figured out the plot fully though. I don't think I've seen any anime since then though. I did see a music video what was made up of scenes from ninja scroll, it was a cool video, might try and see ninja scroll.

I like Anime, but I don't really get any of it when I'm at home. I'm a bit of an odd-ball in the family, though in a good way ;) I love Natuto, and have enjoyed Zatch Bell and One Piece. The last two aren't awesome, but I enjoy them. I haven't stayed up long enough to watch IGPX.
