Hey I was wondering if you guys know about these shared medical processing applications, such as FightAids@home, muscular dystrophy etc.
I think it's very cool. If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's basically an application that works when you computer is not doing any heavy processing, and calculates stuff for medical research ( Or other purposes such as the SETI@home ), and sends the results to the central servers.
This is the link of the world community grid where you can download the software to some of these projects:

Yeah, i've heard of these, i downloaded one from the BBC for global warming once, i think they are pretty cool, unfortunately the BBC one took up alot of processing space so i had to uninstall. Good idea though.

the world community grid client is on isle priority, which means that when your computer needs processing power it stops using the CPU, and let the computer run smoothly.

Nice, if it helps research then i don't see the problem, i'm clicking on the link now, apparantly they may be putting these sort of things up for download on the new generation consoles at some point, like the PS3, because it has so much power behind it you can have it run in the background and it will do stuff etc etc. Great idea still. I think there was a video on youtube about it, i'll try and fish it out.
