What is this PAPERDOLL business I am hearing of so often? I read about it at least once on every thread, and I dont know what the deal is!!!

I wont be upset either if no one replies to my thread, I will know its a touchy subject?

MAN!!!!!! I WAS RIGHT!!!!! She appeared in my dreams!!!! The Paperdoll was really far away when I saw her, so I became lucid and tryed to fly away. I started to fly when I felt something pull me down and it was her!!!!
I kept trying to flee, my fear was to great to fight her, but she wouldn't let me. I tried to wake up but she kept me concentrated on the dream world, and her terrible terrible stench, the smell of death. She then cut me twice, in the mid chest and my left thigh, and I screamed in pain. I then got away from her grip and started to run, shouting "I want to wake up!!!!". Then I closed my eyes, and hope for the best, concentrating on leaving this world as soon as possible. Then I woke up!!!! My heart beating faster than ever, and sweating like a bastard!!!! My thigh and my chest hurt like if they were cut, and were somewhat red.

I am really freaked out by this experience with the Paperdoll, and I hope that I can go to sleep tonight, and somehow dream of something completely unlike her...I am going to think about love and stuff all day long so I might dream a good dream...

That age old warning is addressed to oneironauts, which are in fact the explorers of the dream world. Believe me when I say, you must pay dear attention to it if you value your life.

It is hard to describe the Paperdoll. But you will know when it is there as the most intense feeling of fear with overcome you...she is truly the most evil creature I have ever encountered or even heard of in the dream world. I am thinking twice about going to sleep today, but I hope that I can transmitt my happy thoughts into my dreams and forget all about yesterday's experience...

oh man, this is not right.
I just woke up, and I read this topic trough a while before I went to bed, :shock: i'm scared shitless... I had a dream and then I saw this figure, it was totally black, I coulndt see it, black smoke around it and I got lucid and it drew me towards it it was like a black hole, and it was so scary, omg im still trembling... my hands are shaking, this is not right!! Oh man, I coulndt fight it, and I wanted to wake up and screamed to wake up and closed my eyes and I willed it but it didnt work, and then I was totally enlcosed by it and I was just filled with this unnatural fear and I hear these chanting children and then slowly it faded into these scary demon voices chanting and i was still in a black void and then it got cold and then I felt crushing and something appeared before me i couldnt see clear but it cut me over the chest and I bled in my dream and i felt the blood and I was scared shitless (my hands are still trembling! I think im gonna be sick man im so relieved I woke up) and then I woke up and felt pain in my chest but there was no wound... omg im starting to believe theres more to it now i always believed in scientifical things and stuff but this cant be true or what it cant be right omg i dunno waht to do!! shit

WHAT????? We had very similar experiences man!!!! I also felt really cold when she was around and she cut me in the chest too!!!! I was so freaking scared when I woke up that I couldn't go to sleep, and it was only like 4am!!!!

I think that I was able to get out a bit before you, because, eventhough I felt her closing in when I escaped, I was not completely absorbed by her. When she grabbed on to my feet to prevent me from flying I felt an inmense amount of fear that emminated form her freezing dead hands. When that happened everything did in fact grow darker. Were you able to see her face??? I didn't but I fear that image more than anything else. I didn't hear any children singing or such, but I was to afraid too even concentrate on anything. All my will was bent toward escaping that realm.

I can't believe how similar our experiences were, it can't be just coincidence...

Uhh... I don't think you understand. The paperdoll is a mythological creature (maybe not such a myth after all) that comes after you in your dreams. The user chose their screen name after the creature.

it would only come after you if you were lucid... the paperdoll attacks oneighronauts (explorers of the dream world). If you are aren't lucid, then you really aren't exploring it are you? From I understand, the paperdoll is the most evil thing you will ever meet (aside from the things O'nus has experienced :o ), and if she has been forever attacking oneighronauts, I doubt anybody here would have a chance at defeating her; it would take enormous concentration and motive to get rid of her (considering the myth is real, rather than one big embodiment of everything you fear)

Ok, to those who have encountered her this may seem a crazy suggestion :idea: , but why don't you somehow meet together in your dreams (another thread somewhere said this was possible) and bring her down, see what she really is? To stop her attacking others etc. Can she actually physically kill you, or just terrify you? Can you talk to her? She might have something interesting to tell us. Also, if you seek her out she might not be as powerful as when she seeks you, 'cos she won't be ready for you. I'm not volunteering for the job, I'm like the general in the back who shouts 'charge!' and stays safely behind. Actually, I'm the one who should try aren't I? Then when I fail all the people who said it was a stupid idea all get to laugh at me...... I've watched too many films and read too many books.

Hey LifeChild, if she could kill you in real life, then who would be around to tell you about it? From what O'nus has been telling us, things that happen in a dream can transverse into reality, but the extent of damage that a person can have is unknown. My belief is that if damage you sustain in a dream can sometimes transverse into reality, then what's stopping it from damaging vital organs, eventually killing you?

Good point actually Death-wuad. On both accounts, the knowing if she killed and the being killed in dream/reality. Hmmm...Don't know what to do about that one. Ok then, instead of seeking her out and possibly bringing about your own early death, when/if she finds you, since you said you are looking forward to it and therefore are unlikely to be quite as afraid, you can talk to her. In fact, people, even though I assume most of us don't really want to see her, as she sounds rather on the scary side, if you do have the misfortune to come across her try talk to her, and failing that try defeat her to stop her preying on others. That would be quite a victory if you could manage it I guess, but don't destroy her, she might be nice really. Tell you what, If I encounter her (and by the way Paperdoll if you manage to read this via my subconscious or whatever this is most definitely NOT an invitation to enter my dreams) then, if i'm not overcome with fear (incidentally, what does that feel like? being overcome with fear, in books people are always frozen by it, but i've never experienced that, can you actually physically not move?) i'll try communicate with her, hey, maybe she could take me on a journey to find her origins, her reason for generally freaking people out. Maybe she's just bored.

Yay Padfoot! I think it would be a great idea as long as everyone remains uninjured (both physically and mentally) then maybe if we did, people would find out she was good now, and their subconsciousness would show her as good.

One more question, particularly to those who've met her - Is she like just part of your dream (i.e created from your subconscious) or like something from elsewhere invading your dream (perhaps created in someone, or something, elses dream)?

The Paperdoll- dream experiences Truthbearer and CT tells about attract attention to me.
I am especially surprised over the posts from CT in this thread.
I have always understand him as a "what you can't prove scientifically, does not exist/are not true."
So dream experiences and such things about this subject, is something I never would imagine from CT.

On the forum, "Paperdoll" is the name we use for "Paperdoll EP". She's earned a reputation of being somebody who dosen't mind ripping off heads or whatever.

However, "Paperdoll" is also the name for the combined evils of the world, a demon that is so intensely scary you may even die of shock or terror, or even get killed by it (who knows).

Truthbearer has experienced it, as has CT (if I am correct). Do not joke about this; it's a real pants-shitting experience. You can easily point and laugh; but you just go to bed tonight, get Paperdoll knocking at your mental door and then you won't be laughing. And the best bit is it dosen't matter if your super lucid, have pink fluffy love hearts or just close your eyes, it'll be there. You close your eyes? It'll probably show up anyway. You try to fight it? Woe betide you.

So now you should all understand the two Paperdoll's, and there's no excuse to upset other people about Paperdoll.

I believed the "Paperdoll EP" username was taken from a heavy metal band, or something similar.
I don't joke about this myth Paperdoll. I take the most of the members here seriously, because the most users here is very trustworthy. Even they tell's about experiences many people don't believe in.
Anyway, I am not the kind of person who jokes about scary things.
I was afraid in many weeks after my teacher said to my whole class that it was a ghost in her house.
In fact, she scared the most pupils, so she asked for apology from my class some days later.

I was only 10 years, and the most scary thing of it all; She said the ghost was not harmful, but the whole class only wanted she to say it was a joke.
But she never did, and I fear it is true. (Why else would she tell about it?).
I hope I don't scare anyone with this; but it is completely true that she said it. :shock:

I was also afraid of getting OBE's a period, and that is the reason I didn't try to LD the first time I heard of it. (That was almost a year before I found this forum).

I was convinced that lucid dreamers was more likely to get OBE's.
I still think, but I think it is not a danger for me to try to LD; because I have only been lucid at low levels, and doubt I will be likely to experience OBE's. And I also think I have a lack of serotonin.

The reason for this post? It will demonstrate that I am serious, and I don't joke with scary and dangerous things.

Holy Shit!!!!

Im extremly sorry to have laughed at you guys...

That was the absolute scariest afternoon nap I have ever had.
I became lucid and was casually walking around just kinda looking at things when I was overwhelmed by this immense feeling of dread and hate.Everything got dark(It went from a bright sunny day to pitch black.It was horrible.I then woke up..or so I thought.I sat up in my bed when I heard something underneath my bed.A rustling sound.I then heard soft laughs from children..by then I was completely freaked out.Suddenly I saw something in the darkness and before I knew it I was being attacked.She cut my ankle!!!I tried to wake up but I couldn't!!Then she slit my throat in one quick slash, it was the most painful thing I had ever expierenced.I suddenly awoke for real after that.I couldn't breathe very well when I woke up and honestly thought my throat was slit till I felt it and realized it was still intact.It was red when I looked in the mirror.My ankle had a slight scratch on it..which could have been from anything but I knew it was from The Paperdoll.You were right truthbearer, I thought that it was just some funny shit to laugh at others for this, but I now see it is truly not a laughing matter, I will absolutely never laugh at someones dreams again!

Your experience kinda reminds me of my left knee, which has an enormous scar on it. I have no idea how the scar formed, and I would have remembered when it happened because it looks like somebody performed surgery on me; it's about 2 inches long and very straight+clean, it was no accident. On my RIGHT knee there is a very sloppy scar that is about an inch long and its difficult to see, but what's amazing is that it is in the exact same spot...

Could "paperdoll" possibly be your conscience in the form of a scarry being, punishing you in your dreams from something you did in your waking hours?

Seems to me that this paperdoll ruins and intrudes on PERSONAL and confidential dream time... It would make sense to me that this being has a purpose and a task to complete when it rummages through your dream world and has amazing amounts of power, even over a lucid person.

Lucidity in your dreamworld SHOULD give you the power to control anything and everything, although this seems to be exempt... Could it be a creation of your own mind getting back at you? The only problem I can see with my theory is, why would it punish you without tagging on at least a memory of what you did to offend it? Like training a cat or dog, you've gotta show them what they did wrong. Just a Newbie thought... Please correct me if I am wrong, I likely am.

Well in a lucid dream you can't always control anything and everything, being attacked is known to be a thing that you have difficulty controlling. If she was there simply to punish you, then it would be to punish you for being lucid. It has been mentioned in many topics before ( http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4255 ) that your subconcious doesn't like the intrusion, or thinks its dangerous, and it will do a lot of things to try and make you lose awareness. Maybe it just gets really desperate and decides to scare the shi... lucidity, out of you so that you won't want to ever have an LD ever again.

I think that would prove beyond doubt that she is not just a figment of the subconscious, and is rather an inhabitant of the dream world with the power to invade one's dreams with the purpose of psychologically harming you...

If you destroyed this paperdoll (Please don't kill me! Please don't kill me!) and you somehow managed to destroy her and tell others then it would only be to you that she was destroyed as she dwells in each persons brain and may come back to you even if you do destroy her. Telling someone who has experienced the paperdoll that you had destroyed her may bring back the dream to them and then if they told you then you may experience her again. I really don't think it would be a good idea trying!

Firstly, who were you talking about the age thing about?

and secondly, Paperdoll is god dam scary! Yesterday I was joking about her with my friends and we were taking the mick and then last night I had the dream! It was soooooooooo scary! I was just walking along on the way to school when I thought this is boring I feel like something else so I spun around and I was in the middle of a market type square but I realised after a few minutes that everyone had frozen and I looked around and froze after realising that the fear of all fears was standing there! PAPERDOLL! The darkness began to engulf me so I tried to get away I closed my eyes and screamed WAKE UP!!!!! But I couldn't and before I knew it she had me she was choking me so hard there was no air left in me. I fell on my knees thinking I was dead and then I woke up. I couldn't breath when I woke up I was choking and I was tired as if I had been running for miles. I'm asthmatic so I reached for my inhaler to get me back to normal breathing again. I was so tired I ended up falling asleep again but I was totally dreamless.

Well, it has been a couple days since I dreamt of the Paperdoll and, though I am still afraid as hell of her, I think that I will try and get her to come into my dreams again. I know it is a really really really stupid thing to do, but I fear that I have to. Perhaps if I hadn't said anything at all about her, then no one else would have suffered from her deadly dream visitations. I feel that it is up to me to see if I can do anything about it. I know that I can't die, or at least will do anything I can to try and not have a heart attack or something, and thus I think I can withstand some pain if it can help stop that of many others. I brought this curse upon us and I shall end it. In the words of my friend and hero, Neo: It ends tonight!!!

I know it sounds pretty idiotic...mostly after what the both of us have been throught with her. But if I don't find something to stop her then she will continue to haunt all the people that read this and are shocked by it. I don't know if I will be able to find something that can stop her today, or if it will work for everyone, but I sure as hell am bent towards trying. I really feel guilty for introducing this evil towards us all, cause perhaps if I hadn't said anything then it would all be ok and no one here would have dreamt about her.

I appreciate your concern, CT, but this is something that I really have to do....

I AM ECSTATIC!!!!!!! I DID IT!!!! I TRULY FINALLY DID IT!!!!! I FOUND A WAY TO STOP THE PAPERDOLL!!!!!

This is what happened. I used the Lucid God method to induce a LD(it is a method that only lucid gods in this forum are taught, when you are a lucid god we will probably let you in on the secret too. It is effortless and 99% effective). I entered the dreamstate with more control than I have ever entered before. I was able to sense everything around me and the connection I had with the surrounding dream world was amazing, like nothing I have ever experienced. That was when I decided to do what I came in to do. I thought of her, remeniscing on my past experience. This alone gave me the shivers.

I then prepared myself mentally and shouted "PAPERDOLL!!!! I SUMMON YOU!!!! COME OUT, WHEREVER YOU ARE!!!!!". As soon as I finished shouting the ground started to shake. The beautiful cloudless sky suddenly became dark, like a endless pit. Clouds gathered all around and filled the sky as far as I could see. Lightning, followed by some powerful echoes of thunder, flashed before my eyes, destroying the beautiful world that my mind had created. I had thought that perhaps if created an environment filled with beauty and love I would have an edge on our fight. Obviously I was wrong. Every flower and green patch around me suddenly turned brown, dried up. Lifeless. Then it sank into the earth leaving only a dryed up broken land of dust and stone, as far as my eyes could see. Then it began to rain, harder than I have ever experienced in my life. I suddenly uderstood that I didn't have a chance...

The darkness and gloom of the environment soon took their effect on me and I felt my spirit diminish. I started to wish I had never done such a thing and started to try and wake up. I gave up on my cause, I admit it. But I felt this enormous amount of pressure, of fear, a feeling of an impending doom. I closed my eyes and began to spin, trying as hard as I could to picture a beautiful scenario, a forrest perhaps, or a green valley during the midst of summer. But I couln't. Every single image that flashed upon me was that of death and evil. A decapitated rabbit. A human fetus bleeding on a bed. A mother guts inside out, with a rotten, swollen and putrid face. I then knew that she was tapping into my mind. I opened my eyes again. She was there next to me...

I freaked out! Yelled to her at the top of my lungs: "WHAT DO YOU WANT??? LEAVE ME AND MY PEOPLE ALONE!!!

She replied: " I WANT TO SEE YOU SUFFER, I WANT YOU TO WITHER AND CEASE TO BE! I WANT DEATH!"

I assumed a Kung Fu stance(always gives me confidence) and threw a punch at her. When my hand touched her body, it inmediately turned black and started to rot, from the outside in. The rain kept falling hard and each time a drop would land on my arm I felt like I was about to collapse. The pain was too great to handle. I started to try and run away. Everywhere I went she sort of appeared there. I summoned a sword, remembering some of the threads here, and impaled her with it in her stomach. This infuriated her. She started to bleed a bit, but then concentrated or something like that and she was good as new. She then proceeded to cut me rotten arm off in one swift move, and tried to slice my neck, but I pulled back a second early. That was when it hit me. The only thing that could actually distract her, that could end her torment and anger directed towards me and, at least giving me enough time to escape. I remembered a thread I had read at the board "What's up with Paperdol EP and muffins". I knew what I had to do...

I summoned a muffin and a smoothie, and told her: "Here drown your sorrows into this smoothie and sink your torment towards the world into this muffin!"

She extended her hands and recieved the tasty treats, she took a bite out of the muffin and a sip of the smoothie. Suddenly all the enviroment began to change, once again, back to how it was. It stopped raining and the sky cleared up once again to that flawless infinite blue, the one I love getting lost in during my regular lucid flights. The earth once again began to grow green and my arm started to regrow as it was originally, as it is meant to be. It was as if she stopped concentrating on propagating evil in my mind, and simply became a neutral element...

She didn't smile, she never smiles, but she seemed at peace, at least for that moment. She was no longer the mistress of torment, not at that time. She was just an entity with no real feeling to her. I was prepared to leave, feeling victorious after finding the paperdoll's weak spot.

She then said to me: "Smoothies are so much better than milkshakes, and muffins are infinately superior to pies"

That is when I woke up....

You see, lately visiting dreamviews has become a routine, a chore at times. We where dissapointed at the influx of new people who demanded instant information, without reading the information out there already, and then never visit these forums again. . The attitude of those new people saddens most of the regulars alot and some have even refrained from posting here... :(

So we stirred up some trouble, had a couple of laughs, looked forward to what people where going to post again, instead of dreading the newbies and answering the same questions over and over.

To tell the truth, the part that got me was when truthbearer said he was going to go defeat her, 'cos he thought it was his fault, and then i felt like going 'awwwwww' because for some reason people thinking things are their fault makes me feel like saying 'awwwwwwww'. The cynical mean part of me was at the same time thinking it was overly melodramatic and would make a funny film.
