here is a dreamsign that i just remembered, and i have it a lot (in fact it is the one that got me lucid this morning!) driving a car, but sitting in the wrong seat. like sitting in the passenger seat reaching over holding the wheel, or sitting behind the driver seat and reaching around the chair to hold the wheel.

I used to have a lot of dreams where I was driving somewhere but kept getting lost, or I couldn't control the car / the car had a mind of its own, or about having a car accident.

Classic anxiety dreams, I guess. I don't have them so often anymore.

I've had dreams involving what you're talking about as well. I once dreamed that I was driving from the backseat.

Interesting that you said that, I just had a similar dream the other night.
I was driving, except I couldnt drive worth shit, and I couldnt tell whether I was driving the right way or against traffic until I saw a car coming towards me and had to swerveeee...

i used to have dreams about driving when i was a little kid, and that was before i knew how to drive, so i didnt know how to drive in the car and i always got scared

Same here (I had most of those dreams when I was very young) but I still get them from time to time. I had one just a couple months ago where I wrecked my car, totally smashed it flat like a can. I wasn't hurt at all, though.

Driving the car will almost always make me lucid.
Especially when I do something like wreck or have difficulty staying on the road.
In fact my last LD started when I hit a ramp and my car flew about 1000 feet in the air.
I noticed that I was very scared this time.

I wonder... just how much the adrenaline rush contributes to becoming lucid?

i used to have dreams that my brother and sister could drive (at the time both were far too young)
and it never hit me when i was awake that this wasnt true until one day we needed someone to drive and i said why don't one of you do it, you can both drive and they were just like wtf no we cant !
i was highly confused
same with flying dreams i honestly thought i could do it, i even used to give flying lessons to my friends =P

my dreams were far more crazy and complicated in those days =/ unexplainable

They say driving a car(or driving a road) represents your path of life,so if you cant control the car this could mean you cant control certain parts of your life or something,and if your sitting in the wrong seat it might mean your doing something wrong(from the wrong spot??)

Sounds about right from my experience. Most common interpretations of car dreams have seemed right on to me.

i haave similar experiences when i,m driving in dreams...i usually start in the drivers seat in full control..then i findd myself in the back seat not being able to steer and worrying about loosing control..next i find myself outside of my car..watching it travel down the road ..I seem to be floating just off the ground about 30 feet behind my car..still knowing that i am the driver...When i do find myself in control behind the drivers seat.,I always reach a rediculously steep long hill ..like an obstical to climb..in the future i would like to have more control and be lucid..so when i approach a steep hill i caan grow wings on the side of my car and put the petal to the metal and fly up the hill

Well, my dream last night was crazy. I have had this dream a couple of other times... wel not the same exact dream but close.
My mom wasn't in the car and the car was moving. I didn't really have to turn the wheel (I pressed some sort of button to move) and i was listening to the radio. I was wayyyy lost and I was like in another state. I came up to a place where it looked like my house but it became another house or something. It was really weird.

Also, I had somewhat of a lucid dream last night. I knew I was dreaming but I didn't do anything. I have a lot of these.
