in my town there is nothing for those under age to do after like 10 other than the movies and terrorizing the 2 walmarts we have (2 super walmarts in a city of just over 50,000 people what the hell?)

and those get rather dull after a few thousand times

so what me and a friend have thought we want to do is set up some sort of night club just a place to people to hang out and stuff

there isnt any thing in my town like this so we think it could be a big hit

so we started thinking of possiblilities and problems like...

we want a place not to big but not to small not in the middle of town to much happens there already

we want kinda like a small diner in it too...

NO bar since it will mostly be those under age

we were thinking that we could get the local bands to play a few nights (this is what i really would like cus 1. it would help people come to the club and 2. it helps the band get noticed)

we already know that there is going to be problems like drugs and alcohol being snuck in but we really dont want that to happen.

we also havent decided if we do it what to charge and where we will get food and drinks and stuff of that sorts

so what im really trying to get at here is what kind of stuff do i need to be looking at to make this actually possible

what will we be getting our selfs into
what type of stuff will we have to do with health departments and buisness codes and that legals stuff

we really want something like this cus literally every time my friends go out to do something we just end up driving around saying ... ok now what... hell lets go to walmart again and get kicked out... again

help us make this real!

Question: can you afford it? Assuming the place is a big success and it pays for itself, you still need a huge loan to get it going. Are your parents onboard with this, so they co-sign? Cause I guarantee they won't give it to someone who's underage :).

Other question: How many underage people who wish they could go to a nightclub are there in a town of 50K?

Finally, remember: Underage people typically don't have as much money as "grown-ups". That means everything you sell will have to be a little cheaper, to attract the crowd.

Of course, all this is assuming you want to get a lease on some place. What scale are you talking about, here? Cause if you rent a small place, there will be plenty of remodelling you need to do, which is also expensive.

im 19 and and i know many people that feel just like me not having a place to hang out and and chill so i know its is a market

and we already realize that we cant have high prices for things

and banks usually dont like to loan for clubs cus they are a very big risk

we were thinking we will try to get sponsers to help fund and some of our other friends

we even thought as far as to have it start just out in a field out side of town

im not looking to make money i would rather get into this to have a place to hang out and chill and for others to do the same

we also are worring about food and drinks alot like we cant buy the stuff from the store and resale it cus that raises the price to high

I'd suggest taking a trip down to your local police station and/or law firm. Ask the police what they'd expect you to do, what you can expect them to do in case of a problem and what sort of laws that come with the place. (theres huge liability issues)

Then, get in touch with a contractor. No matter what sort of facility you're thinking about, he'll be able to tell you what you'll need and what problems you can expect.

Lastly, try to find a nightclub in some other town. Ask if you can speak with the owner and learn a bit more about the business.

In other words, ask those who know.
