Who do you think is the better survivor? personally i like bear grylls because his techniques rely on more thought than les stroud. Les stroud seems to be lucky most of the time, and if he doesnt succeed he gives up.
who do you think is awesomer/more of a beast?

Les Stroud is certainly the guy I'd want with me if I was in a nasty situation, of the two. Bear Grylls just acts too stupid too often.
Not that he's not entertaining, or doesn't know what he''s doing. I"ve gotten into this on other forums before, but let's just say I prefer Les Stroud, and leave it at that. Ray Mears'd show them both a thing or two, though.

After seeing Les Stroud's desert episode, I think he can be proclaimed the champion (he made a needle and thread out of a freaking cactus for god's sake ).

I don't know anything about Les Stroud but Ray Mears is much, much, much better than Bear Grylls (if that is his real name). Bear Grylls runs around the jungle being dangerous, climbing 60ft trees without safety equipment and drinking water filled with bugs and whatnot that make him sick. Ray Mears wanders around looking like a proper English Gentleman making fires out of next-to-nothing, eating a load of food that looks actually quite nice and is more concerned with being able to fend yourself in the wild competently. He also shows how indigenous people cope around the world and shows a great amount of respect to them.
Ray Mears > Bear Grylls

les stroud seems to have better knowledge in terms of dire situations, but if i was stuck somewhere i would say i'd have to go with bear grylls just because he seems like he knows more about his environment (snakes that are safe to eat, plants that are poisonous, etc.)
he found a plant poisonous to fish but nontoxic to humans and he put it in a couple tidepools and he had enough fish to last him for a couple days.

True, but I'd rather have Les with me since he definitley knows more about survival that doing crazy shit like Bear does.

I find both Bear Grylls and Les Stroud entertaining, but I have to say that Les Stroud is better.
His surviving is more realistic and his advice seems more sound and less extreme than Bear's. I also find Les more like your average person instead of an extreme mountain climber/adventurer. He seems to deal with his survival more realistically than Bear.
On top of everything else Les is a very good harmonica player, which is pretty sweet.

OH DEAR GOD...
I nearly smacked my friend earlier today because he would NOT SHUT UP about either of these shows... he concluded man vs. wild was better btw.
Lmfao. The irony here is astounding...

Les Stroud is much better imo. He goes out there all alone and has to cope with the psychological aspect of survival much more. He also has to deal with all that camera equipment while Bear usually doesn't even have a pack. In fact, I think Bear even wears makeup while doing the shows. Sure the shots in Man vs. Wild look better, but Survivorman just has a much more authentic feel.

i don't know where its from, but i saw a video with Bear walking across some rocks over a kind of hole, and saying it was dangerous and it could collapse.
Then there was a guy calmly walking across of it, and their cars were parked a hundred feet away on the highway.
