I have a firm stance in this debate for the side of werewolves. Seriously what could be more kickass than being a wolf or wolf-like humanoid?

I say screw immortality and being a parasite. Not to mention the fact that you can't go outside during the day if you are a vampire. I love living as a human too much to give up my life to become a vampire. As long as we are saying that you have control over your lycanthropy than I would choose that over being a vampire any day.

from what i know there are at least 4 types of vampires

1. real vampires as in the undead suck your blood you turn into a vampire
2. people that have characteristics like vampires... like a vampire disorder.
like:
vamp fangs
allergies to the sun
pale skin (not alibno and not from getting no sun just cant get tan or what not)
enhanced night vison
ect
3.people that like to drink blood
4 people that like to drain psi energy

i have met a few of the last 3 catigories



and then i know of 2 werewolves

1. actuall werewolf the whole moon = beast thing
2. again like #2 of the vampire people that have characteristics of werewolfs like a disorder
like:
wolf fangs
allergies to silver
increased body hair
increased strength
ect
i also have found information that people have odd symptoms during full moons

if u have seen the movie underwold u would know that vampires are like ages infront of werewolfs and they kill werewolfs with a single bullet that contains silver and spreads in their blood aaaand...i dont even remember how did werewolfes kill vampires. but at the end the vampires won.
and also a werewolf cant kill vampire at night for the simple reason that vampires drink blood and they're immortal. as for werewolfs...maybe they look strong but when they see silver they run like little doggys before they die

That's not true! With practice, good werewolves can control their shapeshifting. (Although the full moon does increase their blood lust.) Oh yeah, and you want me to tell you a secret about werewolves?

You know how they say only a silver bullet can kill a werewolf? Well, that's not true. The werewolves can be killed just like a normal wolf, but they started that myth so people would think there was no purpose in using other weapons agains them. But sssh, don't tell them I told you that!

Though, like Ame, my allegiance lies, primarily, with the Ninja, here is my answer to this poll, from the last time it was started:

Ok, let's weigh them.

Lycanthropes, in the common sense, have super strength, agility, an incredible bloodlust. They are practically immune to all things but silver, but that depends on which Lycanthrope mythology you are counting. In some cases, they can be killed by an irrevokably (sp) fatal wound (ie; decapitation, being blown up, etc etc) However, in some tales, they can be blown to peices and reassemble themselves as long as the wound wasn't caused by silver. Their claws and jaws are weapons with almost no equal. They have an amazing sense of smell, hearing, and a body mass that almost screams "unstoppable." However, in their transformed state, they are killing machines with almost no sense of calculation or tact. They simply destroy and maim and obliterate without much of a gameplan.

Vampires, on the other hand, are much more agile. Their preternatural senses are All magnified equally. (sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell. Not to mention the sixth sense of ESP that nearly any folklorish vampire possesses (sp), to some degree)
While a lycan may hold an advantage by being downwind of it's enemy, a vampire can also sense heartbeat alone from a remarkable distance. The speed of an "elder" vampire is unmatched by nearly any mythological creature, which means a lycan can swing its claws and snap its jaws time and time again and hit nothing but air, when facing a vampire that knows what it's doing. Their minds, as opposed to lycans and even humans, operate Much faster, and actually advance in mental ability as they grow older. A vampire can also get the drop on a lycan rather easily, as they can move through shadow without making any sound whatsoever. The ability to hover, undetected, over an unsuspecting prey comes to mind as a large advantage also. It is hard to say which are physically stronger so, for the sake of arguement, we will call them even in that area. Vampires are deathly allergic to sunlight, which is a drawback, but as lycans are pretty much confined to the light of the moon also, this doesn't play that big a role in such a battle.
Hmmm, what else....ah...many vampires in different "vampire universes" have the ability to cloud the mind of their prey, causing illusions and confusion that help put their enemy into a stupor, if the opponents' own minds aren't strong enough to stop the intrusion. They also share the same near-indestructablity as lycans, save for extreme damage to the heart, decapitation (only in some stories, others they live through it) holy water (I don't see many transformed lycans using holy water in a fight) and the old cross tactic that doesn't seem to work on even Half of the different vampire bloodlines talked about in fictional works. There is also their vulnerability to fire, which most vampires seem to grow out of after a few centuries. (the same with sunlight.)

I may have missed a few points on either side, but vampires get my vote.

Wow a Vampire or a Werewolf well if you saw Buffy the Vampire slayer the Vampires all just get their asses kicked. And in Angel he was a vampire but he like never died he was like godly. Then you got Underworld and Underworld evolution were the Werewolfs 1 on 1 with a vampire would get destroyed, but the Vampires had a lot of gadgets to combat the Lycans. And the Elder vampires in that movie just kicked ass. Werewolfs look cooler, but I would probably have to end up going with Vampires in the end but Werewolfs are pretty much on par or a bit below Vampires in my opinion.

Yes Vex, but what if one is turned into a Vampire while still living then technically the body never was declared deceased and is therefore still living. Since the Vampire is still living it cannot possibly be a animated corpse hence your theory is somewhat flawed. But I give it a A+ for effort.

Well you see that is where there are many conflicts in some Folklore the Vampires are simply dead re-animated corpses, however in other folklore the Vampires may be alive and in fact possess souls while this does not hold true in some other folklores. From my findings Vampires may be Alive or Dead may have a soul or may not have one.

So we are both correct depending on which myth, folklore, tale, etc. you are referring to.
