I love horror movies, and although I haven't seen any since I found out about LDing, I'm wondering if I shouldn't watch them. Sometimes when I try to do techniques that require thinking about something or imagining something, I'll get a creepy image of a scary movie that I'd seen a while ago in my head. I dont want to end up doing DEILD or something and waking up from a nightmare because the thought in which I entered the dream was scary. Do you think it's worth skipping out on scary movies for lucid dreaming? I know it's not really that big of a deal, but it's starting to get into halloween (and a few horror movies are coming out) and I dont want to stay home from a movie when my friends go see one just because it's scary. But I also dont want to risk my chances at lucid dreaming.

Well, If you think it hurts your being able to sleep- It's probably not wise. But in a Dream, you are more likely to notice that huge Loch Ness Monsters attacking your house if you have recently seen a Horror Movie. That could be a good Sign your Dreaming.

It depends on how easily you have nightmares and how you react to them in general. Some people wake up rapidly upon having a nightmare which would definatly impact your ability to realize that its just a dream. As for myself I love dreams where I feel there is something dangerous nearby or where there is a general creepiness to the dream (I don't even think of them as nightmares). Grays (like from the X-files) on the other hand leave me shaking in my bed and actually make me too nervous to get up and go to the bathroom which tends to ruin the rest of my night.
