Reality Television

In the last few years television has become engrossed in reality television. From the first survivor many new and senseless shows have come up. We really don't need season after season of Big brother do we? Does anyone else agree?

What could be more real than reality television? Oh I know... reality. Reality shows blow, how long can you watch people bitch at eachother over stupid crap? I have a good idea for a reality show, it's where we run around and piss people off by hitting them in the leg with a stick. Then everybody laughs when two cultures attempt to coexist. It's funny because we are empty on the inside with shallow personalities.

i agree, reality tv is the pinacle of shitty tv... but when you think about it, all tv is shit, so why have a double standard? it's all crap... just turn it off and read a book. i heard this from a friend... "kill you tv." i think it illustrates what i'm trying to say here.

p.s. if this is a just a rant thread shouldn't it go into senseless banter?

I never even watched survivor, that seemed really stupid. I have seen a few others though(how can't you when they are every where)? The best of them are ok to watch if there is NOTHING else on. Whats stupid though is a lot of them put them on at prime time so its pretty easy to find something better to watch.

I agree half heartedly think of it this way, the goal of these shows was to ENTERTAIN which they do. Most of America’s population is "uneducated" or has minimal schooling so this probably would entertain them. One reality show I did find funny was fear factor, they get these people who really are weird and ask them to eat something nasty or do something stupid. It may be shallow but I find that it’s funny and entertaining.

I never watched a single full episode of any reality show. Too boring. I think the producers are trying to appeal to someone of my age group but it isn't working for me. :)

I want to see a reality tv show that would mix something like.. Blind Date and Scare Tactics..

Or Amazing Race and Survivor... everyone is being chased by killers..

Or the Contenders.. hm.. maybe not that one.

I guess Scare Tactics is a OK show, but the rest suck. The last thing we need is to watch a bunch of teens and thier stupid problems, if you can even call them "problems".

there's apperantly a large crowd interested in it, otherwise they wouldnt be on tv.
Its yet again the people with a little bit of intelligence and common sense in their heads beeing trampled by all the stupid morons.

What I hate even more is all these 'temptation island' stuff..... Or these britsh shows... anyway they're all about raunchy sex, basicly. There's the variant where theres a group of people in love, and all the guys go on one island, and all the girls go on another, and they're in a luxe resort there, and there's loads of other hot members of the opposite sex, and then the goal is.... I dunno but it always ends up in all these people going OMG MY LOVER ON THE OTHER ISLAND CHEATED WTF NOOOO ARGH and stuff like that.... :|

TV is crap, period. Newsgroups are better. Get only the occasional intelligent shows, fuck the commercials. TV is confining. It gets people comfortable with living in a box.

Bottom Line Best reality show: Real World and the rest are crap. i find real world funny because well it puts a variety of people in the same house and makes them suffer from living with each other. I like people to suffer :evil: :evil:

I did like "The Mole" but they friggin ruined that show when they put celebs on it! That show required intelligence, but then it just required funding.... GRR :pissed:
