These writings of Sigmund Freud are very enlightening to dream interpretation as well (may even deserve an entire thread to him to actually..)

Thanks to Death-Wuad for this great site!

Yaya, I LOVE dream interpretation. I usually find that my dreams are triggered by things I see on TV or things I hear but once in a while I will find that an occurance or item in a dream symbolizes something else occuring in my waking life. Once you find the connection it's great, it's like solving a Holmes mystery!

this is an often overlooked aspect of dreaming, glad to see it has it's own forum on here. i will definitely be in here often :)

i'd hardly say its often overlooked...generally when people think about discussing dreams the first thing they think of is interpreting them...

After checking out a few dreams people have posted for interpretation, I noticed a major piece of dreaming missing--EMOTION.

I don't think you can even try to talk about what a dream means without including the dream's emotional content. We all know symbols are idiosyncratic and are meaningless to other people. Plot summaries are not much better. But plot plus emotion equals interpretable.

I hope ya'll might think about including more emotional content.

Ahh that is quite the thing to now think about. I will now consider the general feeling or emotion that the dream itself had next time. I remember one dream now thinking about where I was at a apartment complex and blah blah blah later it came time to get home and I didnt have my liscense (which I should but dont) and my moms car was there and my friend wanted to drive but he was drunk and I did not know waht to do.

Thinking back I think that in real life I really want my liscense so I will be able to do the things I want to do even though I hade that I dont really care that I dont have wow strange

This is a disconnected relationship w/a strong father figure, or your true father you feel your cut off from what you may have had before. There are so many things which you have taken for granted, which you are now trying to deal with. You are seeing that your assumed character of this father figure/ father is not what is under the surface. There must be a reopening of the lines of communication with this person, reestablish a clearer understanding of this person’s true feeling towards you. The others in the dream are his fears of having other things take you away from him for good. The relationship of the parents to the children changes when the children are out on their own; this is your heart telling you that you need to make stronger relationship w/ your father.

ok, this dream is kinda weird and I have no clue how to interpret it but here goes:
I was walking underwater with my girlfriend, we were going some place undetermined. And we were not wearing anykind of underwater gear of any kind, it was like a canal or something a really deep one and we were way at the bottom. So all along the walls of this canal were the carcasses of like ancient sea monster long snakelike monster fishes. They were not decayed or anything, I just knew they were dead. And all the time while walked I could almost sense these things comming back to life. They had huge teeth, they looked really scary.
So at some point we decide to sit down, so I put my back up agaisnt this wall of dead sea monsters. They reek unbearably, this stench of dead. But we talk for a while and I then surface, alone this time.
I find myself on a small beach where this fisherman has his back turned to me and is cleaning his nets. I walk towards him and I stumble, only to find a gun in my hand, which I accidently trigger and I kill him.
Within a second sirens are all over the place police cars are rushing towards me, so I panic and swim in to the water.
Next thing I know a chopper i comming for me, but for no apparent reason it crashes in to the water. I cannot believe my luck.
Just a minute later the next chopper arrives, only to crash in to the water just like the last one. a few minutes later I reach the other shore, get up and walk home.
The End
Now I have no clue what this means, any takes?

Ok, this dream is kind’ a weird and I have no clue how to interpret it but here goes:

I was walking underwater with my girlfriend;

(The desire for intercourse)

we were going some place undetermined.

(But, unsure of where it would lead)

And we were not wearing any kind of underwater gear of any kind,

(you are feeling vulnerable)

it was like a canal or something a really deep one and we were way at the bottom.

(You feel as though your life is already set)

So all along the walls of this canal were the carcasses of like ancient sea monster long snakelike monster fishes.

(These are your fears of passed relationships)

They were not decayed or anything, I just knew they were dead. And all the time while walked I could almost sense these things coming back to life.

(This is the fear of making the same mistakes in this relationship)

They had huge teeth, they looked really scary.
So at some point we decide to sit down, so I put my back up against this wall of dead sea- monsters. They wreaked unbearably, this stench of dead.

(Your fear of incompatibility troubles you)

But we talk for a while and I then surface, alone this time.

(You fear that she is not in this relationship for the same reasons as you)

I find myself on a small beach where this fisherman has his back turned to me and is cleaning his nets. I walk towards him and I stumble, only to find a gun in my hand, which I accidentally trigger and I kill him.

(You fear of sharing your desire to come clean of your pass relationships will kill you)

Within a second sirens are all over the place police cars are rushing towards me, so I panic and swim in to the water.

(Your fear of expressing yourself to her causes you to stick to the same old patterns of behavior)

Next thing I know a chopper I coming for me, but for no apparent reason it crashes in to the water. I cannot believe my luck.

(You think if you just forget about the pass it will be okay)

Just a minute later the next chopper arrives, only to crash in to the water just like the last one. A few minutes later I reach the other shore, get up and walk home.

(You really want to share with her, but you decide not to, and walk away from you passed)

The End
Now I have no clue what this means, any takes?

Ok... I had this weird dream.

I was hiding behind some crates, holding a silver coloured pistol. I kept hearingg explosions coming. So when I peer out and shoot, a girl with dark brown hair throws a knife covering in blood at me. It hits me, and I 'die'. I see white, and then I am alive again, still at the crate. I peer above, and anopther knife comes. This continues for a while, and then she walks over to me and says that we can be allies to destroy the boys. I say yes and then I go and punch somebody I know well in the face. END

Last night I had a really strange dream. I was walking down a dark corridor with my best friend. He was wearing a red shirt, and we walked into a bathroom. Suddenly, the toilet started overflowing. A tap over the toilet had been turned on, and was pouring water into the toilet. I told a lady, and then I walked into this room where these grey zombie-dolls were serving strawberry ice cream. I ran from them with my friend into a garden, and hid behind a hedge. Then I saw this tall guy who (I found this out today) looked like Mike from Nickelback. This guy punched me many times ( I felt no pain), and then got these two pieces of metal and attempted to kill me. I kicked him many times in his face! (Boy did that feel good!) I was surprisingly accurate. Then my friend came again and I woke up.

((I seem to get killed or almost get killed in almost every dream I have))

I am glad I found this.

Here is my dream.

When the dream starts out I am in a resturaunt with beige walls. We have a 4 seat wall table. My friend Ashley and her Crush Dustin Cook(which whome I like as well). It is obviously after prom or after some very formal dance. In this dream my date is my somewhat cute friend named Charles who sits next to me on the bus. Well it seems we are actually going out. At first I start to hold his hand. Then it seems like I am not holding his hand the right way. So we figit a little bit with out hands and then get situated. Then al of a suddon I start kissing him(pecking him on the lips). After about two of those I start to french kiss him with lots of tongue. All of a sudden we are in reverse seats and my tongue wont go into his mouth. I wake up.

I know it's sorta weird but please someone help me discover what my dream means....

So I've been getting a lot better at interpreting my dreams, even as they've been getting stranger and stanger. But last night I had one that blows my mind if you cats could help me with it. It goes as so, a little foggy but this is what I remember...

I'm living in a row house in some city, I get the feel of working class Boston area in the 60's or so. The sky is overcast and it's a bit dark (my favorite kind of weather) so I feel a unique kind of comfort I only feel in such weather. The inside of my house seems plain and drab, but not uncomfortable. Afther enjoying the enviroment and view from my front stoop I walk to the back to look around. Everything seems normal, even though this is envrioment I've never been to in my life.

So as I go back outside, here comes the strange part... I look over to the left side of the yard where the trash cans are (old metal style) to see a figure picking though my trash with strong/expression-less man in a neat trench coat standing behind him. When I can out to see if I can help, I always try to be as helpful as possible, the man raises up from the trash can and is clealy non-other than Soviet leader Nakita Krushchev. He queitly responds that they are fine. Then knowing he's a man of imprtance I offer the two some coffee or tea, but they decline and walk out the gate out front and I say 'goodbye' in russian (I took some russian in college) and they both reply in russian. Then I walk back to the front door to watch them leave, feel a bit disopointed. As I peek though my blinds I see them talk to a third man who turns around and walks up to the door. After he knocks I answer 'hello' (again in russian) and open the door. He replies the same and reaches out with a sick with a soft whit ball on the end touching me on my left sleeve and leaving a faint white chalk mark. I felt proud for some reason. Then I awake ending the dream.

I have no idea what any of this might mean. If you have any questions I do my best to answer and would appreciate any help.

Is it just me, or do you feel little motivation to interpret peoples dreams who only have 1 post?

I just do not feel the confidence that they may even come read it again. Sure they spilled their beans and what not, but I am just not confident about it. I have done it before, and on this thread, and people, for the most part, just do not respond.

Especially if there is no immediate response, it seems they never return.

Anyone else..?

That is not really a bad thing. You should collaborate more to figure out which is the collectively best interpretation. It is not like a competition to see who is the best interpretor or something.

Naw, the first interpretation is usually off (if not always). So you need to discuss it to get to the real and actual one.

In my dream I was standing in a long narrow blue room. The roof was about 7 feet tall and 322 feet long. In my dream i walked up to a wall and layed down.
when i fell asleep my consioucness sorta floated away from my body. as i watched my body a moon about three times the size of a basketball appeared over my head. it started out nice and white but started to become deep red. as it became red it started to shoot out pulses like evil feelings.

all i can find on this dream is stuff sayin i should wear a helmet when i go to sleep -.- can u plz enterpirt it?

It's kind of like trying to figure out what a book is about after reading one chapter. Almost impossible. But for every person that reads a different chapter, it gets easier to understand. If everybody shares their "chapter" so to speak, then eventually you'll get the whole book. Hope that made sense.
P.S. I do realize nobody has posted in this thread for about a month and a half.

Okay this continues my vegue dream situation form before.
I keep having dreams with my ex-best guy friend in them. And it's driving me insane. We were pretty close and ended up admitting that we liked each other near the end of school last year. But then some kind of complicated and overly dramatic situation happend a week after the confession...sooo we stopped talking. And things hav'nt been the same sense (hence the "ex"). I did'nt talk to him at all during the summer. And I hav'nt talked to him sense school started this year either. Not even a word.
Lately I have been having these dreams about him. But its never the same. The only thing that is, is him being in them.
Here is one of my dreams:
I remember I was in front of my computer desk with a phone in my hand. I started to dial a number unwillingly. As it rang I felt I had to go to my room and shut the door so no one would hear what was going to be said or somthing. I realize the number I had dialed was HIS number and frantically began to press the end button to hang up. But it would'nt work and I started to feel frustrated and scared. He got picked up the phone. First I heard him talking to a female in the backround in a hushed tone (one of his sisters or mother). I heard bits and peices that were like this: "Are you sure about this...? ....After what happend...?"
The Next part is a little odd and It gets a bit hazy near the end.
Then he started to play music into the phone. I told him that the first two songs he played were my "favorite" (they were my favorite in the dream).
And unfortunatly thats all I remember.
Ive had more dreams with him in them but im sure you dont want to hear me drone on and on, so I just mentioned one of the more recent ones.
I just want to know why I am having these dreams and what they mean.
Please if you could interperet this id be happy.
