Jackie Chan. They're not very nutritious for the brain, I admit, but the sense of humour, coupled with the OTT violence in his films just make me smile :)

John Travolta is also good, hell he was brilliant in Pulp Fiction despite the obvious disadvantage of having a mullet hairstyle. And Face/Off was good too, don't like Nicholas Cage though.

Affleck is....no, I'm not even going to start. Put short, 'loathe' is a tame word to describe my feelings for that creampuff airhead shallow self-absorbed narcissistic....nevermind :-P he's a tool...

Looks like I'm digging up an old thread. Oops.

Definitely Christian Bale for me. His work in The Machinist(Emaciating himself for the role), and his manipulation of his accent. His work overall is great. I won't lie, I haven't seen Dark Knight, but I'm renting it today or tomorrow. I know I'm late as shit on it, but I'm not going to say he was great in it just because everyone else does. :P

Pacino and De Niro. Nobody is better at acting than they are. This is not subject to debate. It is just rock solid fact, and that is how it is. :bigteeth:

Im going to have to say Ian McKellen and Sean Ashtin in lotr

but also Obama and McCain (thats right Jeff)

honestly there are no actors that really make me want to go see a movie, I care a great deal more about what the movie is about than the actors.

Edward Norton
Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Samuel L. Jackson

I suggest everyone go out and rent/borrow/buy/download any of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's movies(preferably The Lookout or Brick). Many people don't know who he is but he's by far one of the best actors currently working. And he's pretty damn good looking too.

After Al Pacino and Robert De Niro...

Actors: Jack Nicholson, Dustin Hoffman

Actresses: Meryl Streep, Glenn Close, Bette Davis, Diane Keaton

I am talking strictly in terms of talent. The fact that some of them happen to be in my favorite movies (Easy Rider, The Graduate, The Godfather Parts I and II) is something that comes with the tendency of the best film makers to cast the best actors and actresses.

He dropped out of Juliard, therefore he doesn't count.

most interesting performance in terms of unique character since Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow.
