READ BEFORE WATCHING VIDEO
-following text taken from www.bashar.org-
"Bashar is a multi-dimensional being who speaks through channel Darryl Anka from what we perceive as the future."
-following text taken from my own common sense-
Darryl Anka BELIEVES or DECEIVES people that he is channeling a multi-dimensional being named Bashar from what he perceives as the future.
I haven't confirmed this but I was told he charges people $500 for a phone seminar with him. This video is very funny, what's funnier is the people in the audience who are buying into this...and buying his material. Now without further adieu...stand by for laughter.

I'm not posting this to offend anyone who may believe in channeled information, but I mean...c'mon...

I'm not gonna say that I believe he is channeling or that people should pay alot to see him but some of his ideas are actually pretty interesting.
I have only three words to say:
"I AM CARLOOOOOOS!"
(If you got that, bonus points for you)

I used to know a guy called Bashar. No joke. He comes from Aleppo, and we used to smoke blunts together. I haven't seen him for a while, but damn. I never expected this.

I wonder how long he was doing that at parties before some drunk chick believed him and he realized he could get paid.

Since this thread was posted, I find myself returning to the videos, and I've got to say this guy puts on a good show. I wouldn't adopt him as a guru or anything, but I find the world just a bit more entertaining with him in it, doing what he's doing, crystal disco balls and everything.

yeah you have to be able to think on your toes to do what this guy does. He has a whole prepared speach, and he answers questions. crazy. Would be awesome if they caught him contradicting himself and he blamed it on the alien! :rolllaugh:

Yeah, but also the level of energy and spontaneity he puts into it. That's good performance art right there.

If I were a sociopath, I would be doing exactly that kind of stuff for money. I would start my own religion and sell it like a used car salesman on steroids.

Is he doing something harmful? Do you assume he approaches it callously? Regardless of whether he explicitly believes that he's channeling an extradimensional entity, maybe he came upon it as a valid way (to him) to help people. I mean, you have to have something real on offer to get away with, "I'm channeling an alien emissary from the future," whether it's therapy or entertainment.

He is sucking money out of people under false pretenses. That is stealing. He does not get into trouble with the law for it only because the law could never prove that he doesn't really believe it himself. It is slick in legal terms, but it is still theft.

I think the sheer absurdity of "I'm channeling an alien emissary from the future" renders moot any fraud claim. It's wonderful that you're outraged on behalf of the people who freely choose to buy his stuff, but the fact remains they're exchanging their money for something they find of value. Do they base that value on the credibility of an alien from the future? Would that value be lost for them if he's just a performance artist with a New Age bent? I don't know. Nor do you.

He's selling a crock of shit to make money. That is fraud. If I give you $100 for item A, and you knowingly give me item B instead, you have stolen from me, even if I am happy in believing I have item A. It is like selling false autographs. There are people out there who sell supposed autographs of Elvis Presley and The Beatles, and they are fake. You might argue that the people are getting the happiness of believing they have such real autographs and that that is all the real autographs could have given them in the first place. But I say that people who sell fake autographs like that are scam artist douches who belong on prison. It is stealing. What do you think?
I never said I am outraged. My disappointment in what suckers his followers are takes away a certain amount of sympathy I would otherwise have. My point was that my conscience would not allow me to do what he is doing but that I would do it if I did not have a conscience.

Why are you so sure this is fake?
Having listened to 100+ hours of Bashar stuff (most of which was free since it was shared.) I have to say that I can freely check out and confirm most of what Bashar says and it is unfailingly true in my experience. Unless my shadow self is hiding something from me, which I am entirely open to...
Is it that they claim to be ET or that they are in our 'future'? Or simply because the message is channelled?

The guy charges hundreds of dollars an hour for a phone call with bashar. It is an obvious scam. People can "act" like anything they want these days. just watch star trek!

Just like christians condemn prejudice against the black, but when asked about homosexuality...

Well for everyone who says that he charges hundreds of dollars for phone calls with him, I checked out the website I couldn't find any validity to the claims. They had downloadable free tapes and the only actual time i seen any mention of money was from the catalogs of books, videos, cd's and for tickets to his shows which were about $40 not $500. So I can't say with any certainty that this guy is actually out there to just scam people. That being said how is this any more of a scam than any other religion out there. Christianity makes some very extreme claims. And while They preach repent or else and condemn those who have different views, this guy at least preaches acceptance and tolerance. I honestly don't believe he is out there hurting anyone.
That being said I still don't buy it, but if i was on a bus with only two spots left and I had to sit with either a christian or someone who believe in this stuff. I would chose the latter.
Edit- here is the website for those who wish to look at it. http://bashar.org/HOMEMAIN.html

I didn't buy into it, but I only watched 3/4 of the first video. People also spend lots of money buying rap CDs, but the rappers aren't scam artists. To me, people are wasting their money thinking they are buying good music, but to them I don't know what I'm missing out on.
