What do you think is the most important thing in life? What should we live for?

Our own happiness
Money
Knowledge
Improving the lives of others
Being seen as successful
Making a difference in the world
Power
Other

I just wanted to know what people on this forum thought.

Our own Happiness - I believe that it is the most important factor, after all, if we aren't happy, how are we supposed to function properly, we'd just be really depressed.

Happiness is everything in my opinion.

You make a good point LS, and I am sure many people will agree with you.

BTW- just added a poll.

I think it will be very interesting to see the motivations and ideas of people on this forum.

With money, every option on that list is attainable.

We're all going to die. Some of us will die much sooner than we think.

I, for one, hope to have something good to reflect on when on my death bed.

I'm actually torn because i would like to make a difference in the world, but like Mes said, it would be good to have a life to reflect on. Happiness is the most important though.

Things like money are merely tools to use in life, not important really at all, money can gain power in this world and that is why many are probably drawn to money. But money cannot buy true happiness.

Making myself happy more then anything, I'd hate to be on my death bed and think that this life was a waste, but ofcourse it wouldn't mean much to me then.

I of course meant that making a different in the world is what I would want to have achieved. But that sort of thing in turn would make me happy. :whyme: Meh. I think the poll is a bit disorganized.

Somehow I was able to vote on more than one, so I put knowledge, our own happiness, and improving the lives of others.

Those are all important. Making a difference in the world is redundant for the others because you would be making a small difference, but it also coincides withe being seen as succesful if you mean a big change. So that one isn't very important.

Money, power, and being seen successful are bullshit.

I chose my own happiness, but one of the things that makes me happy is helping others :-/

I chose knowledge, improving the lives of others, and making a difference in the world, although if I had the choice in the poll my choice would be my own spirituality and my commitment to God.

Those don't apply to everybody though. They gotta be PC about it.

I would say that the most important thing in life is to allways have a goal to work towards. An unmotivated life is a wasted one.

Making yourself happy.
Not to say that the others arnt important, but i'd rather be unsuccesful an poor, yet happy, than succesful and rich in a job I hated going to.
