Seriously though, I absolutely love the LoTR movies, especially the extended versions. I'm going to try to make it to Rhode Island to see the uber LoTR marithon on the opening night of Return of the King. They're going to show all three movies, extended versions, with intermissoins. That amounts to more than twelve hours of fantasy goodness. But then again, I love a good epic. :)

The lord of the rings is a metaphor for the third age of THIS world. it's not fantasy, very real. all the ages are there, the bible too.

he was a rhetorician, responsible for parts of the oxford dictionary and studied myth and religion like a motherfucker.

It is the most important study of man's written myth in existence. The two towers, dear god, the world trade centers...i could go on, relate the books to EVERY myth in existence.

The first three books were wonderful! But after that, I found that they seemed to drag on. Also, he takes too long writing his books. I think we fought a couple of World Wars between the last two... :roll:

Robert Jordan is a genius, hes gettin old though, and if his son takes over his writing though, it will probly suck. :whyohwhy:
