View Full Version : Stuck in your head?

I feel like I'm losing my connection to the real world and getting to be more in my own head. I've had a chain of thought that's lasted about 3 days. When I wake up, it carries on where I left off (or in some cases, despite my unconsciousness, carries out through the night). The world seems to be an illusion, like Buddha says. Has anyone ever gone through this?

Oh, yeah. Except for me, my chain of thought developed into a whole world. It's awesome.

That is called Emotional Disatachment.

Now that you mention it, it did start when I was going through a tough time. I kind of retreated into it to get away from the emotional stress. Kind of glad I did.

Interesting.

Usually that kind of mental behaviour is exhibited regularly by either mentally retarded people (More specifically those with Aspberger's syndrome) or incredibly intelligent, but reclusive, almost antisocial people.

Keyword: usually.
I've had a history of getting things people nothing like me usually get. For example, a hernia. An intestine popped out when I was 5 years old. The doctors were dumbfounded. Each doctor that examined me just said, "I'll have to get my superior" until they said "We have to go into surgery and see what we find." Apparently it's something old ladies usually get.

But anywho, I'm getting off topic.

Retards create worlds? I can imagine intelligent, but reclusive, almost antisocial people doing that. Were C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien like that?

I did not say that they were retarded. But J.R.R. Tolkein I know was not exactly a gregarious person and was a philosopher. At least, he taught philosophy.

I didn't mean "Were they retarded?" I meant "Were they imagine intelligent, but reclusive, almost antisocial people?"

Almost a definite "yes".

Nah, it only happened for two days.

Were you able to break the chain of thought and return to it later, or it just kept running, regardless of what you wanted?

Kept running. There was never a moment where I got caught up in my surroundings. Also, I could interact with people fine and do things, but it seemed like my subconscious was doing that. It's like my subconscious and conscious mind switched places.
