AJC News (http://www.ajc.com/services/content/metro/gwinnett/stories/2008/03/31/wreck_0401.html?cxtype=rss&cxsvc=7&cxcat=13)

Let me briefly sum this up for you. I live in Atlanta, Georgia. A few days ago, there was a huge accident on a major highway here. A guy, driving like a possessed demon, weaving and swerving through traffic, rammed into a SUV that was driving along the HOV lane. This caused the SUV to crash into the concrete median and flip several times and caused a domino like effect and resulted in many more accidents. In the end, about 10 cars were severely damaged, 4 deaths, and many more injuries. Amongst the 4 deaths, 3 of them were the kids of a woman that was also injured in the car wreck. I'm posting this because Whitney Randle... even thought I didn't know her well (we met briefly through a friend a few times), my heart really goes out to her and her family. Not only did she die, but she lost her son and a sibling. i can't imagine the pain the family must endure. Please give a moment to pray for their family. I'm not a religious person but man... this really sucks. It scares me because I could have been one of the victims in the accident since I have to drive home from 85 every day for class and work. I know its not a big deal in the spectrum of all people who die in car accidents and other horrible ways, but this time it hit pretty close to home.

You just never realise when you will die... or who will die... and in a flash, your life completely changes...

Damn. That does really suck. Sorry to hear about that. It just goes to show that you can never take anything for granted, on the road. You never know how the actions of other people could affect you, until it actually happens. :?

Wow, I never realized how much I take things like driving safety for granted. It seems so routine that you tend to think that nothing devastating will ever really happen.

Man, a few months ago I finally came to the realization that I could die at any moment and so could anyone around me. Like, I sincerely came to terms with that realization rather than just "knowing" it at the back of my head somewhere. Amazing how that changes your life.. for the better. :)

My heart goes out to all the people involved in that accident.

Traffic accidents kill over tens of thousands of people a year in the US alone. But that's just a statistic. Sorry to hear about the news.

One death is a tragedy, a thousand is a statistic. Incredible isn't it? My sincerest condolences go out to the victims and victims families - it was only in January that two of my good friends died in a car crash due to black ice. No drinking involved or anything. Truly a terrible (and unexpected way) to go.

Yes, your life can end in a flash. My mom had a really good friend who always joked about how she was going to live a long life because she eats healthy and exercises often. She went to church and yadda yadda. And she never drank and drove. and guess what? She got killed by a drunk driver coming back home from gym. You just never know...

You just never know...

No you really don't. I feel bad for all involved. It never ceases to amaze me how the driver that causes the accident doesn't die.
