View Full Version : Resigning from the Staff but not from DVs
Clairity

I just wanted to let you all know that I have just voluntarily resigned my position as a Dream Guide.
I have been considering this for weeks but did not want to be thought part of an elaborate April Fools joke.. and I kept talking myself into staying "just a little while longer" hoping that my feelings would change.
But I came to the realization that my heart just wasn't in it anymore and it was turning my passion for this forum and for LDing into a "job" and I have decided to resign while my joy for both was still salvageable.
I wrote the following after seeing the movie "What Dreams May Come" and it pretty well sums up my feelings about LDing and this forum so I thought I'd leave it with you:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Armed with a purseful of kleenex, I went to see "What Dreams May Come" and although I didn't need the kleenex (I got just a *little* misty eyed), I came away feeling very.. for lack of better word... blessed.
You see, while I was sitting in that dark theater with everyone else marveling at the vivid colors, the images of people flying (and more that I won't speak of for those who haven't seen the movie) it dawned on me that I didn't have to wait for *death* to experience everything that was on the screen. I have been in fields of vivid color, I have flown alone and with others, and I have even desired to see someone and have had that person appear in front of me.
I went to the movie with my husband (who thinks of lucid dreaming as my little *hobby*) and afterward I wanted so much to explain how LDing is possible if you just believe that it is.. that anyone with the desire can have them too. But then he smiled that smile that he saves for me whenever I speak of lucid dreaming and the words sounded somehow hollow or as if I were just bragging (it's hard to explain).
Once again I decided that it was more than enough that *I* know these things to be true and that I could come on the web and speak to others who know them to be true also.
We who lucid dream are indeed truely blessed.. because if the movie "What Dreams May Come" is any indication of what heaven holds, we have been given the gift of experiencing *heaven on earth*.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Take care fellow dreamers and I'll still see you around the forum (just minus the green stars)!

I just want to tell you that you were, without a shadow of a doubt, the best and most caring dream guide I have ever seen here. I'm not going to say "you will be missed", since you are staying right here with us. :)

Clairity,
Its important that you yourself are happy, and if it was turning into more of a job, i can understand where you are coming from. So, please don't worry about things. What i can confidentally say is that despite you not having green stars, you will still have just as much respect as you did before. Theres no doubt about it because at the end of the day you are same person with the same awesome personallity :D
It is not completely bad that your dropping from the staff, its important that you are happy, it must be annoying to leave the position, but if it was causing you problems or not really serving a purpose, i can totally understand why.
You are you, regardless of the stars and position, its awesome that you did so much whilst in the position, and i think it will be even more awesome to see you around the forums some more (thats if the staff job took a lot of your time). You were very active anyways, but it'll be good to see you around more either way.
Clairity, you did a great job as a DG and i'm very grateful for all the things you have done. It will be awesome to see you around though still, leaving would be sad :(
Seeya around the forum!

Hmmm. Not the sort of film I'd use kleenex for, but there you go.
Clairity, you're by far the most ridiculously nice person I known. So long as we see them kind hugs on the forum I'm happy, green stars or otherwise. :)

Wow. No, really.. wow.
Seeker, Burns, Clarity, etc etc etc.
Pretty soon we'll have no staff.
Hate to see you go Clarity.
Don't forget PJ, Moonbeam and Exo. Thanks for all your hard work Clarity, you're the best Dream Guide we've ever had.

Does this make 5 or 6 resigned?
Sad to see you without your stars, but glad to know that you'll still be around. I'll see ya in the hug thread lots.
That's a nice little piece that you wrote. :D It motivates me.

I hope you will be able to resume your status again when you feel up to it, Clarity. It's good that you are still staying with us, though :)
Keep safe and well. God bless you and guide you.

We've lost ExoByte, Burns, pj, Moonbeam, Seeker, Clairity, and TwoShadows.
Clairity, you really are one of the most cheerful and helpful people I have ever met. You're the one who offered me my Dream Guide position, and who answered all of my dumb questions about that. It'll be a lot different without you on the staff, but it's good to see you'll be sticking around.

Wow. I wasn't expecting this at all Clairity, especially since you so recently accepted the DG Team Leader position. But I know you will still be here as a regular member, and maybe even more active than before. :) I will just miss that protective authority kind of aura.
We all love you, Clairity. I don't think I've ever known anyone as loved as you.

Not to be pedantic here or anything, but all the evidence suggests that you have to be necessarily not dead to experience anything like what they show in the movie.

Aww.... I've always kind of seen Clairity and Seeker as the like "mom" and "dad" kind of figures on the forum, the way they're always there to look after everyone and are so nice.... It's sad to see them both step down.... Oh well, as long as you're both happy.

You did an amazing job as DG, I don't think anyone helped as many new members as you did here.
best of luck

Hey Clair.
I don't know you as well as I'd like to, but from what I saw early on, and when we did actually come into contact, you just had this aura of kindness to you. I recall seeing you and your influence on this forum and reaffirming that I should stay here... you see, my first few days here I was trying to see if this was like other forums I'd been to, with all the flaming, etc. People like you are what makes DVs so great.
All that being said, this isn't a farewell. You'll still be here, in a different form... and to be honest, those green stars were outshined by your sparkling personality. As far as I'm concerned, there's no difference, and you're still an integral part of this place. I can see it, and I've only been here for a month or so.

I am very sad to not have you on staff. As with Seeker's resignation, I probably shouldn't have logged on today during work as it kind of threw a kink in my momentum and all I wanted to do was spend time composing an appropriate response. :P
I am glad for you, Clairity, that you are here for all the right reasons. I know that you truly love DV and I look forward to many, many more wonderful hugs, within and without the hug thread  You have been an inspiration to me and to so many others here, and I am proud to have you as a friend! Your kindness and willingness to help everyone here brings a smile to my face. I also love the fact that you still throw out the occasional "GEEWILLIGERS!" to shock and awe us all.
