View Full Version : My umpteenth resignation
Placebo
04-22-2008, 02:42 AM
The soppy stuff: When I first arrived in 2004, bright eyed and eager to try new things, I was greeted by a great community and a new found home. After many successes and failures at various ideas, I was noticed by Seeker and pushed into a leadership role, where I made this site my own. It's truly a home for me, and will always have a warm spot in my heart, wherever it goes.
Recently, my life paths have changed dramatically, with my first child on the way, new businesses in the works, and new hobbies and interests.
As such, I've been less and less involved in my home here, as my focus has been drained elsewhere.
This is in no way a reflection of the site and it's status right now. I know how suspicious it seems, resigning at a time when so many other staff have done the same - please understand that it has little to no bearing at all on my decision. My decision is based purely on my personal circumstances.
Seeker is, in my opinion, the epitome of a kind and fair leader. More like a father than a leader, really.
It was sad to see him hand in his stars, and that it took me almost 2 weeks to notice his resignation was a blow to the head.
Thus, it feels right for me to step down at a time when my DV 'father' has found a new path, and my life has changed dramatically in any event.
As with Seeker, this is not a 'FFS, I'm Leaving'.
This is a 'I love you guys, I'll drop in from time to time'
I wish everyone all the best - this place and it's great people have been a very important place in my heart - so feel free to send a PM if you want a chat.
And who knows, my path may align with DV again one day, and I'll be back with a vengeance!
Even should that never happen, I'm confident that this great place will continue to grow better and better - nothing can stop DV! :D

Hey Placebo- well it sounds like things are going pretty well outside of DV and that's great to hear. We'll miss you around - even if your visits have been short lately, it's just nice knowing you're there.
Hope your baby finds the time to dream deeply enough to give you a break and update us on your progress. Take care, buddy!

Take care, Placebo!
Just remember, when things get crazy around the household, it may be necessary to have to remind yourself, every once in a while:
"Fatherhood is a beautiful thing!" :bang:
"Fatherhood is a beautiful thing!" :bang:
"Fatherhood is a beautiful thing!" :bang:
Lol. Just kidding, man. It'll be great. Good luck with everything, and Keep In Touch!

The 'Staff' tab at the top of the forum should direct you to an up-to-date list.

Thanks guys I appreciate the sentiments, and I'll still be around to some extent ;)
I'll make sure to post pics when I have them (in Oct probably)
Onei - Don't scare me man!
I can already post pics of the scans, etc, but that's not as interesting to everyone.
Boy/Girl? We're 70% sure it's a boy.
And about coincidence - my resignation is really overdue and has no relation to anything else going on here.
Most of you probably wouldn't know that I've threatened resignation about 3 times by now, long before the recent spate of 'coincidences'
I just don't have the focus or time to be a mod on such a big site anymore , I'm sure you guys can understand.
Congrats, and good luck with everything Placebo. :)
