As many of you know we have started a DV Newsletter. We've been working on this for quite some time now.

The Newsletter Staff is lacking members, particularly reporters. More than a couple of reporters have left for various reasons.

I encourage anyone who wants to be a part of the staff post here, and anyone who wants to write a guest article post here as well.

I'll quote Sindred, and this includes information on other ways you can contribute.

We're interested in Guest Articles by people outside the staff, on almost any subject relating to the forum - and also to subjects outside the forum. Review a film you saw recently, or a television programme or a song or even a book. Maybe a poem.
If not a review, photography is welcome. Pretty pictures make happy people.
If you want to write a Guest Article simply write it, and then send it to Siиdяed, DV Newsletter Head Editor Extrodinaire in a pm and I'll include it in the next issue.

If you're doing something and want it advertised, maybe consider submitting an Advertisement. It could be for pretty much anything, so long as there's a link to it.
If so, pm the Advertisement to Siиdяed, DV Newsletter Head Editor Extrodinaire and I'll include it in the next issue.
Advertising viagra not welcome unless free sample is included. Don't pm it, slide it under the desk. No questions.

If you're angry about something in the Newsletter, on the forum, in your average everyday humdrum existence you call RL, send us a Letter.
Obviously not an actual, archaic and obslete letter on paper and the like, but in a pm to me (Siиdяed, DV Newsletter Head Editor Extrodinaire).
Letters we like will be included in the next issue. Probably. If we don't got no good articles.

We need these articles baaaad, people. So far, I'm the only person to post an article. And apparently, you need more than one article. So start typing!

Is this going to be including Lucid Dreaming too? If not, it should do! :P

Yes, JD, suprisingly, it will include Lucid dreaming, the reason that a few people go to this site for believe it or not. :P

Articles on any aspect of lucid dreaming are more than welcome. You can be as broadly simplistic or technically specific as you want.

I want a balance of lucid-dreaming and off-topic articles, ideally. This is a Newsletter for lucid dreamers, as well as for the community here.

Yes, one more person resigned today.

We need some dedicated people, and once again, particularly reporters.

You don't need to join the Newsletter staff to write a guest article. There's no committment, no future hassle.

Just a neat, tidy article of pure rantage. Let it out.

We don't accept the reds, commie.

Back to Russia. Now.

I've never received a Newsletter? What is the spectrum of topics available to write about? Directly pertaining to lucid dreaming? Because it says... television... film... book. So... what gives?

Why make a Newsletter with content not pertaining to the forums? It would be just confusing to me to open up my email account and find I'm getting porn newsletters with elaborate discussions about Nietzsche while DV sends me the latest on the state of the pope's ass crack.

WTF??!

:? Wut, I thought they/we have made it perfectly clear that the newsletter will include a lot of stuff about the forum.

"About" the forum as in...? Movies produced by forum members...? Popular game show hosts who frequently post on DV?

Siиdяed

The Newsletter will be primarily forum-based, either on-topic lucid dreaming related or about the community on DV.

I like that your idea of news is 'movies' and 'game show hosts'. The community news will be - hopefully - insightful looks at the moderation on the forum, recognition of community trends (the 'Real Mark75', Viva la, whatever), reports on 'news' (recent pranks, recent bannings, recent events).

We've made that clear already.

Though if you want to know about the Pope's ass crack, I has pictures. That's all I'll say for now.

I has dox to the contrary:

I hope you would understand why this thread is confusing as hell by now.

We're happy to accept articles relating to things outside the forum, but our focus is on what Xox and I specified above.

There could be a section about the funniest thing said in earnest in the R/S section.

One for Beyond Dreaming as well.

In what form is the news letter going to be? Is it going to come in paper form and be available at news stands? Is there going to be a web site where articles are posted? What exactly is it?

I give you permission to use any post I have ever written, in case that is worth something, except for ones where I got into flame wars with other members. I like to leave resolved conflicts in the past. You might want to consider posts from my thread on the location of God's penis from November, 2005.

I will be thinking about what I can contribute.

Do you remember an answer to the question from the last time you saw that post?

The Newsletter will be posted in the Newsletter forums section. The format of that post is being discussed by the Newsletter staff as an on-going project until it's something we think is good enough to present to DV.

Obviously we need articles to put in it, however.
