How is it football and not soccer?

Because you play with a ball using your feet = football :?

Because, get this, it's played with your feet.

[EDIT] Damn you Adam.

Because, you play it with your feet and soccer sounds bloody dumb IMO ( what does Soccer even mean.. whats a Socc?).. i know it's been said twice, i just thought this really really needed enforcing:

ball+kicking with foot= Football

I thought you were German Korittke... Fußball = football.

It's like rugby; you do kick it occasionally. And I guess you play it while standing on your feet. Or maybe it's to do with feet and yards... I've never understood all the markings they have on the pitches :?

Adam

You have 4 chances to get 10 yards with the egg, or something like that... :?

Soccer is synonymous with football and doesn't carry the problem of being homonymous with American football.

You're saying that as if they never use their feet in American Football.

Adam

Your hands are used as much in football, as your feet are in American Football...

To be fair I find it funny, that in a sport which to me seems to be predominately played by throwing a ball, that it is called football. That is all...

Well don't they alternate and use other parts of the body in Soccer? Im not in to the sport so I'm not to sure but that commercial showed some people using their Noggin.

And if thats the case then why not call it body ball instead of football?

Yeah, that's coming from a fool who uses the metric system.
32 - 212
12 - 1 - 5280
16 - 1 - 2000

Get it in your head fool, it makes perfect sense!

Woah, hold up there and wind you neck back in! No need to start fucking insulting now is there!

I really don't know why you still come here, all you ever seem to do is go around trying to pick arguments with people on this forum, grow up will you

Metric system > Miles/feet

Football > Soccer

In danish we call it 'fodbold' aswell, meaning football. When I first heard the word soccer, I was like "What the fuck is that?".

But on-topic, that is a nice ad. Kinda love how it ends with how it started.

I see how soccer would make more sense if called football but we Americans took the name besides football sounds alot better than handball.
