For some reason, the first night I looked into lucid dreaming, I actually became lucid for a short period of time. It's been a week or two and I haven't even come close. Any ideas/comments?
In addition, I think it would be great if someone who knows what they're talking about would make a basic post outlining the different methods to become lucid, like MILD, WILD, Looking for dream signs, subliminal messages (?), having a message during the night, etc.
Help appreciated.

Im also lazy..but there are so many sites out there who basiclly go over MILD and WILD..
Just go to google and type in "Lucid Dreams" an WILD or MILD or tips or whatever..should work :)

i suppose its common to have a lucid dream right after reading about it for the first time, and being motivated and excited
just dont give up...keep on going, it is worth it

I had the same thing happen last night. I`d read a *little* bit about LD every now and then but always forgot to try it until came upon this forum last night. I was reading for hours, then went to sleep telling myself to wake up and write down my dreams and remember everything about them etc.
I remembered a few throughout the night, but must have had a false awakening because I remember writing down heaps of things then woke to find only 2 lines! Then I had a *very* short dream that Gollum (from LOTR) was in my room chasing me, and for some reason I knew I was dreaming and kept saying to mylsef "this is a dream" over and over. I couldnt control anything tho, I was only aware I was dreaming, then I woke up.
Wasnt much, but I was happy with that for a first try!
BTW Hi I`m just new here, name`s Red, enjoying reading these msgs :D[/quote]

... I would offer advice, but I can't give any. I'm one of those lucky (and damned) people who just *has* them but can't consciously make them happen. That's why I'm here - to control WHEN they happen. For now... they just... happen when they feel like it. So it's obviously possible to attain lucidity without a tremendous, brain-wearing amount of effort. Don't wear yourself out trying. o_o

Yes, I am lucky, but I want to learn how to control them. At least I'm having them, I suppose.

Ok thanks ^^
I hope I'll do LDs soon, cause it's very ...hum... boring to awake all mornings and say : "Et merde... encore raté..." ("Oh shit... missed again..."). lol this sentense is bad I hope you have understand it ^^

Oh yes, I do know what merde is! I feel the same way when I wake up in the morning without lucid dreams.
One year! You have been trying. I think that when you do have your first, you will post here IN CAPS!
Keep trying and don't give up. It is worth it!

I already have one, when I was 6 or 7 years old (And I still remember today !), I did a lot of nightmares, and a night, I knew I was asleep, but I didn't enjoy it, I wanted to wake up myself (I was very frightened, more than my nightmare ! lol) and I woke up. Now I regret ! ^^ but I was too young to know what was a LD ^^.
Now I never do nightmare, so... I can use that methode, too bad :?
But I don't give up, I did it one time, I'll do it another
Note : If you have saw Matrix Reloaded, you know that : "Putain de merde de connard d'enculé de ta mère, fait chier", I can't remember exacly ^^
