Last night (and the night before, but the night before I set the alarm for the day before and didn;t get to sleep anyway) I tried switching my cell phone alarm to silent, setting it for early morning, then holding it in my hand as I fell asleep. I'm pretty sure it worked. I had at least one full lucid dream, and at least one or two bits of dreams that I forgot upon waking. So, anyone else have success stories with this? A better acronym than CAILD? A similar, but slightly different and possibly better idea?
Edit: and would this be classified under another acronym, suck as Technology Induced Lucid Dream? (although I'm pretty sure that acronym's taken already)

Wow, that's actually a good idea. I might try it out next week, as right now I'm simply working with WBTB, MILD, and general dream recall. As for the acryonym, VAILD might work - Vibrating Apparatus Induced Lucid Dream :D

Thanks for the first two links (don;t see what the 3rd has to do with it), buut is there any sort of acronym that encompasses this sort of dream inducement, or is it just classified as other? (some of the more unofficial acronyms aren;t on the acronym explanation page)

3rd one is same idea, just taken further.
Not a new idea, but if you want to be Professor of labels go ahead.

You are using an External device to Induce a Lucid Dream.

The Dream Guides have posted a tutorial on this, as well as others.

Usually you use the vibrations/noise to act as a dream sign, working much like dream goggles, just without REM detection. I find that my phone rattles me awake, so I use it as an alarm for WBTB.
