Sorry to copy you Truthbearer, but I just had a rough last 2 hours. There wasn't anything too horrible but I've been stressed out and for a while in marching band it kind of felt like I was singled out and so I'm not doing too well right now. (He corrected me twice in about 5 minutes in front of about 120 other people.) Anyway, as I've said I've been really stressed out because I took on too much stuff and time no longer exists for me. I'm taking 15 credits this semester and working 14 hours a week and I'm on the student leadership team for Campus Crusade and I'm tutoring a guy for a couple hours a week, and that's my normal schedule. I've been up since about 5:40 this morning (it's 6:00 pm now) and so I'm running on 6 hours of sleep and our marching band is going to EWU at 6 AM tomorrow and.... *sigh* Also, I was hoping that our clarinet section could have a social time in my room tonight, but everyone's doing something else. And this isn't the first time that's happened....

I could just use some encouragement right now. You guys out there are great and I count it a pleasure to be here, but you know, these days come....

continue working at your best, schedule yourself, take a long, hot jacuzzi, listen to relaxing music, relax!

good luck with your activities, im sorry its getting you stressed, but its okay cause it happens to everyone.

With 2 years of drum corps (the best way to describe it is professional marching band, where you tour the country and rehearse all day.), I've had my share of being called out and called some pretty embarrassing things in front of everyone. The best thing to do I've learned is to take it with a grain of salt, and don't take it to heart. What I like to do, and I actually hype on this, is shove it in the instructor's face. Max out the technique, make him/her shutup. If it is a correction such as "you are too far to the left on page 37," then it's just that, a simple correction. Over the summer an instructor told me "get the bullshit out of your horn" when all I did was crack a note. What made it worse was that we were on LIVE TV at the time and I had a camera in my face, shooting a morning news segment in Charlotte, NC at 7AM. Yes, that little comment made the airwaves.

So, cheer up :) . I'm always there on my PM to chat with and share good marching band stories, and I've got quite a few.

Thank you :) I'm feeling better, especially since I got to sleep in for the first time in about a month. Took a nice hot shower (at ~5:30 pm) ate dinner and I'll be ready to start this week. I'm glad you guys are here for me and that's what makes DV great! :D

I wish everybody would just vent, and if other people are bothered by it, they can vent about that....Then, America would be free!!!
