I noticed once that when I read about the NovaDreamer is that it detects when the sleeper is in the REM sleep stage. When in the REM stage, the NovaDreamer emits lights onto the eyes and emits sounds also. Well, I got to thinking and I am sure it has been mentioned before and it might even do it.. But once the NovaDreamer recognizes that you are in the REM stage, can it emit a loud enough noise or bright enough light to wake you up? This would eliminate the need for timing your alarm clock and plus, you could get several chances during the night for Dream Recall..

Well, Im not sure if it does but I think, and I said it before, novadreamer and other devices are pieces of junk..everybody can achieve it naturaly. I hate depending on machines/devices, especially when it comes to something like this.
Of course thats my opinion..for another it might come in handy, I wouldnt use it though

$200-300 is a big gamble on something that might not work.
I guess you could always resell it on e-bay...

hehe sorry Bot88...the point is, you don't need to spend your money, especially not THAT much, and buy something to achive that which you can get naturally. I suppose that's great for someone who's spent years trying to LD, and is tired of trying, but the average person probably achives their first LD in say..I dunno...one month?

Well, I guess I will just keep trying to work on my dream recall. I guess after so many tries of setting the alarm clock at different times and giving myself the intention of "remembering the dream" before falling asleep, I will eventually get it.... Just sad when I wake up in the morning with nothing to remember and realize I must wait another 12 or more hours to have another chance at it =( -- Without remembering, its like the night of sleep goes by in 3 seconds, whereas the whole day you think about the next night takes 12 or more hours... crappy tradeoff isn't it?

I agree completely. Most of the time, I can only remember fragments of a dream, or just overtones, but sometimes later in the day, I'll be reminded of a dream and I'll remember it in decent detail. But yeah, it's depressing when you wake up in the morning and your first thought is "what was I dreaming?" and all you can remember is a few crappy emotions.

Chris.

I may give you some advice -

1)try going to sleep really early like at 7.00 PM - when I do it, I'm totally

in tune with my body and the need to go to the bathroom and thirst wakes me up

several times a night. After I've returned to the bathroom, I'm drinking

another half the glass of water, and the process repeats itself :o

Basically i wake up every 2 hours or so... maybe it's a blessing maybe it's

a curse.

It may sound stupid, but it looks like my own body helps me.

Try drinking some liquid :)

2)You may try certain vitamins and dietary supplements. Vitamin B6 is

good for dreams - 50 mg 1hour before going to bed.

I've read that valeriana root in small quantities helps to induce dreams.

I also had a positive result with ginko biloba.

3)Trying to remember what you have seen in a dreamt last night will not

help - your body dont register your dream as a dream, until you mark it

as a dream.

Try to remember special events that happened to you lets say during last

2 days. It helps you to grasp some treads of your dream and you can

eventually pull it to the surface. ←works for me all the time. You just

notice some event that defies some of the earth's "laws".

And right there you will say - YES! that's it. that's what i've seen.

4) Alarms dont help much - they distract you to the point that you lose

the dream... And it's extremely difficult to recall it if you lost it this way.

Hope some of it helps.
