G'day

I have a wart on my toe and I've tried cutting it off before... but all I get is blood and no success ;(

Do you reckon if I cut it off then put alcohol on it then it will die? Or perhaps... err... cut my whole toe off.

Thanks

I reckon stop cutting it off and see a doctor!! :-P They put liquid nitrogen or something on it

Yeah, they freeze it off...you can actually buy that crap at the store now that will freeze it off and do it yourself but it costs like $25 and it says "may take more than one treatment" so I dunno. Ok this is going to sound sick, and don't ask me why I know this...but instead of trying to cut it off get some tweazers and pick out all the little black dots in it (those are the seeds that make the warts keep coming back) and once you've gotten rid of those it will go away. Ok so I used to do that when I was little, but I haven't had a wart in like ten years but I'm guessing it still works.

It's okay, I'm sure the trauma will wear off in a day or two, or upon my next sushi craving.

You're not alone in cutting off warts, I did it, too. If you want to know how just PM me and I'll tell you all the wonderful details. :P

I had planter warts ( = bad business) and had the podiatrist freeze 'em but it didn't seem to work. Eventually, though, I just ignored them and they went away on their own. Made me really happy! I read a short article, though, about putting duct tape on the warts for about a week and that's supposed to help, but I'd put some more research into that. It sounds harmless, though, so if you try it and it doesn't work, then you're not going to die. :)

Im including a disclaimer for Awaken on this one...haha.

But Ame...the whole duct tape thing goes along with what I was saying about the seeds...because when you put duct tape on a wart its supposed to stick to the seeds and pull them off/out when you pull the duct tape off, but I think tweazing them out is much more effective if you can actually see them. Now this is going to sound sick, but my ex-bf had a planter wart and I told him to put duct tape on it and he would everynight but just don't do it if you are sleeping with someone! Because it would always come off and I swear one morning I woke up and the fucking duct tape that was on his foot was stuck to my ass. So use with caution. HAHA

I've had probable warts on two occasions (one recently), both on fingers, and both were vanquished by tearing the living shit out of them with my fingernails until they bled. I took kind of a "weeding" approach--you've got to get the roots. Perhaps this supports Nina's suggestion, though I wasn't picky about finding "black spots"--I think I didn't let it get that far. At first you can't feel it at all, then there's a point where you know you're yanking out nerve-endings by their bloody roots. That's how you know it's working.

Yes, I have an irrational and violent response to warts.

Do they have Compound-W where you guys live?

It's always done the trick for me.

Taosaur...I guess what I'm saying is, that you can cut/tear at that wart as much as you want, but if you don't get ALL those little black dots/seeds out it will keep coming back.

I Have a friend who is a wart charmer. Probably not much use to you unless you can get to Suffolk (UK) but she's the only one I've even heard of - anyone else met any wart charmers?

Many years ago, I believe at the end of Sunday School, a woman would lick kid's warts for them. Why? Don't know. Disgusting huh.

Lol, I didn't explain that very well.

She's not taking them out to dinner and complimenting them on their wartish good looks or anything, she gets rid of them. Just a quick rub and a couple of days later they're gone. I asked her how she does it and all she'll tell me is that she charms them away.

Why would a topic like this go over two pages?

Well, come to think of it it could be worse. Instead of responding how he needs Compound-W, it could be the kind of subject where someone responds he needs Preparation H... o_O

Yes, I agree...it's quite interesting how topics tend to stray from their original post by silly "senselss banter", but after all, what would DV be if it weren't for that wonderful senseless banter that gets us through these days. Anyway...just do what I said and it will go away. Hey this kind of reminds me of that game...telephone, for some reason. Did anyone used to play that when they were little? (more straying from topic and inviting even further senselessness.)...perhaps this topic should be moved all together.

When I was a little girl, my grandmother and mother took me to see a lady who was known to be able to remove warts. Everyone said she could take warts off. Well, I didn't have many but I did have a few.

I thought she would be some kind of scary old witch. I was only about 8 or 9 and couldn't figure out how someone could magically wish your warts away. Inagine my surprise when we got to her house and she was just a grandmotherly old woman!

Anyway, she asked me how many warts I had and I told her six. Then she looked at each one. After she finished inspecting me she got up and went into another room. When she returned she had some pennies in her hand. She said that there was a penny for each wart. She advised that when I got home to put them up somewhere and to make sure they were safe. I was to keep them and never spend them or let anyone else spend them. If I kept my part of the bargain after a short time my warts would be gone.

Well I didn't want warts so I did as I was told. I can't say how much time passed but it wasn't long before those warts were gone and they never returned. :o

We have wart charmers here. My wife visitted one when she was a little girl. Warts went away and never came back. She has not had a wart now in nearly 40 years.

I wonder if you could learn how to do that in a lucid dream.....
