hey guys, brett (ldguy) told me about the internet telephony program called skype. Its a totally free program which lets you 'call' other skype users,like MSN but with voice. anyway im sure a few of you must have heard of it before, and some of you may even be registered with it.
If anywone wants to take the time to register and download the program itd be great to chat to y'all!
so, if your already registered then put yer username here and DV members can get in touch with each other via skype, instead of using IM s like MSN AIM YIM etc.
It also has a IM function if you prefer to do that.
So anyway download it and tell us your username and we can get in touch with each other,have a chat etc, and even have a meeting (conference) wit multiple DV members, which i think would be kickass.
Its free, its easy and its ten times as clear as normal IM programs chat feature,with the added bonus of multiple voice participants.

Skype is done by the people who did Kazaa, who we all know stuck alot of spyware in Kazaa. Proceed with caution, and mind the minefields.

Well, I won't download another app for voice-comm, already have too many of those. Still, if anyone want to get together and talk virtually I have a ventrilo server that is tested and ready. Should be able to handle the amount of people that would be interested.

At no time did i say Skype defintely has spyware in it. I don't see why you'd be so sure that skype dosen't have spyware in it, either. I think that in this case, it's perfectly fine for me to say there could be spyware in it. I don't run round to every peice of software saying \"LOOK OUT FOR SPYWARE\". This time I said it, because it's by the same people that did Kazaa. What more do you need.

Skype is one of the best net telephones ive ever tried. Uses small bandwith, with high quality and stable as heaven.

yes, by saying that you implied that you think there is spyware in this program, when you do not know if it has or has not.

err yeah, it is on the webpage that skype is spyware free,maybe you just didnt see that...?
and doing a google search and taking a look at some software review pages (takes about 30 seconds to take a quick look and comfirm/abolish any suspicions about spyware) will tell you that it has no spy/adware.
so uh next time your not certain on whether or not a program has spyware in it, try taking 30- seconds to have a look before you start going round saying 'hey guys, i think this program has spyware in it'

anyway nightowl yeah you need a microphone or a webcam with a built in mic (thats what i use) twould be funny to hear your voice after talking with you like this for so long heh.

With about 2000+ posts, I don't have time to dance around to every site under the sun, confirm my posts and write lots of little warning and disclaimer stickers everywhere. I am always doing other things at the same time as posting. Stop bitching.
