I think my cousin's friend's dad's uncle's mother's cousin's friend's son's left testicle was Ghengis Khan. Other than that, I have a cousin that plays AAA baseball, and I think I have a 3rd cousin that plays for the Bears. My ancestors were from Australia, so maybe some of my family were once blood-thirsty British pirates? That would be awesome. :D

My family once knew Lord Nelson; you know, the dude who pwned at the Battle of Traflgar. He gave us some candles, the nice ol' chap. Tally ho.

I am directly related to Doctor Philastus Hurlburt. Hurlbut is my mothers maiden name, as he is my great great great great grandfather (the number of greats I'm unsure of, but it's something like 3 or 4). He publically threatened the life of Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism and started the riots that encouraged the Mormons to book it to Utah.

Here's a bit about him.

It's kind of like being related to the Judas of Mormonism.

Why don't my Lord Nelson and your Doctor Philastus Hurlburt get together to take over the world? Sounds good to me, a few million volts of electricity through ol' nelson and he'll soon be up and running.

My grandmother of 5 greats was Lady Godiva. My grandfather of 6 greats was Sir Francis Drake. That's all I know of.

I'm with seeker--I'm made from the refugees and outcasts of half a dozen cultures, and none of us are famous yet.

Actually, she rode naked on a horse through the middle of town as a protest to lower taxes and allow art to be available to everyone. Does it run in the family? I'll never tell... :D

I'm related to some guy who found a diamond mine, but we didn't inherit anything... I really don't know anything else about it besides that. Otherwise, I'm a melting pot, just like practically everyone else. :D

Mmm... They're not as common now, but does anyone see streetlights that have a kinda pinkish tinge to them? Some ancestor of mine way back invented that kind of bulb, and at the time it was the best thing ever; apparently they've only been integrating other kinds fairly recently, according to my dad, which would really mean sometime within his lifetime... But yeah, he was just some kid who came to America from Germany to work, and he invented that bulb, sold it for a rather lovely little fortune to General Electric, and used the money to bring every relative he had overseas.

Ethnically though I'm a total European mutt. ^_^

On my mom's side I'm related to Charlemagne (I'm not even going to TRY to count those greats)
And on my dad's side I'm a direct descendant of Butch Cassidy. Freaky combo...One of the greatest leaders of European history and one of the greatest bandits of US history. Explains a lot, though, doesn't it?
